Kitchen RenoLorraineWe renovated our whole kitchen, so this piece is one of hundreds. The kitchen is beautiful. However, after our first choice was discontinued, we picked this Axstad, which I believe was the replacement. Accessing the Axstad became a very stressful process. The amount of product that we were forced to wait for was awful. I drove to 5 different Ikea stores to pick up pieces we needed. I haven't added up the amount of shipping we paid to get pieces when they were available. Overall the result was beautiful, but I'd look at things differently if I did another reno.5

RegretsBrittaniI’ve had these for a little less than a year. If you use your kitchen, you have family, and you like things to look clean, please do yourself a favour and do not purchase these. They have finger print marks all over them which are impossible to clean. It’s gross. I completely regret using these in my brand new kitchen. For the love of god, why would ikea think that matte doors were a good idea. I had an ikea kitchen appointment and asked about this specific issue, and they said it was fine. It’s not.1

Material

What is fibreboard?

Fibreboard is a stable and durable material made of leftover wood from the wood industry. A durable outer layer of paint or laminate is added to the board. The difference between various types of fibreboards, such as HDF and MDF, is mainly the thickness, yet also how impact-resistant they are. This determines if we will use them for bed frames, sofa frames, kitchen fronts, wardrobe doors, or something completely different.
