Extremely uncomfortable!DianeThis couch was so uncomfortable that we ended up buying a new couch 5 months later. I tried to get reimbursed but it was too late. Very much regret this purchase!
Great couch, Squeak easily resolved.JoeStyle is great, comfy couch.
A squeak started at about a year, got steadily worse. Tightening the bolts didn't help.
The problem is that the wooden and metal frames are in contact and as they flex slightly when someone sits down, the two frames rub and squeak.
SOLUTION:
I used some 1/8" thick foam cushioning (The type that comes in rolls and used for shipping) cut into 4cm wide strips. I flipped the couch on to it's back and loosed the hex bolts so that the metal frame can come away from the couch slightly. I inserted the foam packing material between the metal frame and the wood frame, then tightened the bolts. The couch has been silenced!
Waste of moneyGloriaCouch is extremely heavyaking it impossible for me to return it. It started making noise everytime anyone sits on it. There is no possible way to wash / change the seat covers. Really hate it.
Disappointing Warranty Experience with ÄPPLARYD Sofa”FatmaWe bought an ÄPPLARYD sofa from IKEA, which comes with a 10-year warranty. Unfortunately, the fabric started to fade and the surface threads of the fabric began to fray and break off.
When we contacted customer service, we were told that the warranty only covers the frame — even though IKEA’s own warranty documents clearly mention coverage for fabric durability, color fading, and cushion structure.
We were disappointed by the lack of support and misleading warranty information. IKEA should better train their staff about what is actually covered under their warranties. We expected more transparency and accountability.

Making noise when we sit on itDevyaniWe purchased this item just 10 days ago, assembled it at home, but as soon as we sit on it, it starts making an embarrassing noise. We've checked, and there are no loose screws or assembly errors on our part. It seems like the product is defective. The issue now is that it's quite inconvenient and time-consuming to disassemble it, return it, and find a replacement, especially When both of us are working. Plus now on top of this I will have to add on more money too

Stylish… but that’s itJuliaPurchased this couch 5 months ago. The size is perfect for our smaller apartment, but issues are already starting to arise - piling is happening, fabric is loose, and worst of all the couch makes a horrible squeaking noise when you sit down, get up, or move on it in general. Would absolutely not buy again or recommend this couch to anyone.
Uncomfortable poor qualityJenniferI’ve only had this couch a few months. Gentle wear, but the seat cushions are compressed and pilling. Back cushions are hard, so it doesn’t feel as deep/spacious as it could be. Don’t waste your money.

Very comfortable, somewhat squeaky...MattI was looking for a durable, comfortable and very "nappable" couch, and as a 6'4" guy, that can be a challenge. This couch fit the bill, and has been a great purchase so far. Only one issue that I found, is that because it's a 100% metal frame, it's a little squeaky when getting on and off the couch. I've tighted the bolts a few times as it settles, and that helps, but it's metal on metal, so this is to be expected.

Good modern sofa with sturdy buildAnonymous reviewerFound this on the website and went to the store to check it out. It looks nice and the high feet make it easy to clean under the couch. It looks modern and minimalist and goes with most decors. It is semi firm and supports your back for sitting on it for extended periods. The construction is sturdy.
I had the same problem in putting together the arms as others have mentioned. What worked for me was to use a rubber mallet (not a steel mallet/hammer - it can damage the wood) to hammer the arms in place. They need to be perfectly aligned. This is shown in the assembly guide but it's hard to do by hand. Once it's aligned it's pretty easy to attach it by the screws. This was the only problematic part in a pretty straightforward assembly. I was able to put it together by myself although the base is a bit heavy so if you have someone to help you it would make it easier
