What is PayPlan by RBC?

PayPlan by RBC is a pay-over-time solution that helps you make purchases through equal monthly payments instead of an up-front lump sum. When you check out with PayPlan by RBC, you agree to accept the terms of taking an installment loan from RBC Ampli Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Royal Bank of Canada or Royal Bank of Canada (RBC), as applicable.

Who is eligible to apply for PayPlan by RBC financing? / Am I eligible to apply for PayPlan by RBC financing?

PayPlan by RBC applicants must be Canadian residents and over the age of majority in their province/territory of residence (i.e., 18 in Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, Saskatchewan; 19 in British Columbia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Northwest Territories, Nova Scotia, Nunavut, Yukon Territory).

Applicants must also have a valid Canadian post-paid (e.g. monthly, bi-weekly, etc.) mobile phone plan and an email address so we can verify the applicants’ identity. Additional ID verification may be required. Prepaid phone plans cannot be used to apply.

Does applying for PayPlan by RBC financing impact my credit score?

Applying for a PayPlan by RBC loan only results in a soft inquiry (soft-credit check) and will not affect your credit score. Please note that, after your loan begins, PayPlan by RBC may report your monthly and final repayment status to credit reporting agencies, which may show up on your credit report and could impact your score.
What information or identification does an applicant need to complete the application?

An applicant must have a valid Canadian post-paid (e.g. monthly, bi-weekly, etc.) mobile phone plan and a valid email address so we can verify their identity. Prepaid phone plans cannot be used to apply.
After making an IKEA purchase using PayPlan by RBC, who do I contact with questions / for help?

If you experience an issue or have a question regarding your PayPlan by RBC loan, you can contact the PayPlan Customer Relations Centre at 1-888-298-6056, 7 days a week, between 7am-12am EDT.

If you experience a problem with your IKEA product/service, you can contact IKEA.
Can the loan be used for all IKEA products/departments?

IKEA customers can use PayPlan by RBC to apply for an instalment loan between $500 and $20,000 with terms ranging from 12 – 48 months for products and services at IKEA Canada excluding: IKEA Food products purchased at the IKEA Swedish Food Market, IKEA Restaurant, IKEA Bistro; IKEA gift cards; third party services not billed by IKEA. PayPlan by RBC loans are conditional on approval by Royal Bank of Canada and are subject to its standard lending criteria.
