Create a green kitchen with natural roots

The popularity of green kitchens has been growing, particularly dark green, olive green and sage green kitchens. With shades of a colour found in nature, you can't go wrong.

Two toned kitchens

Starting off with a green kitchen and add colours like black, white, cream or a light wood to acheive this look.

Here are some ways you can do this:

• Use another colour for accents, such as trims or accessories. 
• Use green for all of the cabinets against a wall and use another shade on your kitchen island. 
• Use a green for your base cabinets and keep your upper cabinets light to keep your kitchen feeling bright.

Choosing worktops

With green being a natural colour, the worktops that will work best are either light or dark coloured stone or laminate worktops. Or bring in some warmth with a butcher block or wood finish laminate worktop.

Choosing appliances

Black or stainless steel appliances can work well with a green kitchen. Black will standout more but still compliment the green cabinets, especially if paired with dark worktops. While stainless steel is a staple for any kitchen.

Choosing hardware

If you want to make a statement, black will give contrast. Knobs and handles in silver or wood will compliment any shade of green.
