Difficulties of a Loft BedMoniqueHi, this is not a criticism of the Vitval Loft bed itself. The Vitval bed is strong, nice-looking, and does the job. I just want to warn parents of the disadvantages of the LOFT bed as a design.
For someone of my height, 5", I can not see into the Bed. Sometimes, it's hard to see if she is there or not, and the small rungs on the ladder make it very hard for someone my age, height, and weight to get up to the actual bed. Changing the sheets is a nightmare, and when my daughter was sick, trying to get up to take her temperature or see how she was is very difficult. My daughter has started being too tired to climb the ladder up to her bed, so I often find her asleep on the floor, instead of in the actual bed. We have a seating area which is cosy under the bed, which doesn't help when it is so comfortable UNDER the bed. This might just be my daughter?? Also, being so high up, warm air rises, so it can get a lot hotter in her bed than on the floor of the bedroom in Summer.
Sturdy but tricky assemblyCathyThe instructions were unclear in places, where instructions only make sense in hindsight, having made a few mistakes. The instructions included insets with a tick or cross indicating "do this", "don't do that". We were able to decipher the picture which said to avoid screwing in the screws all the way. But for the others I still don't know, even after the assembly, what they were saying.
One of the screws was deformed and it was the unique one in a tricky spot, so we had to Macguyver an alternative.
solid bed, ample heightUziparts are well build, instructions are a little guess work because of no words or numbers on the parts and manual. height is very tall, my daughter is near the ceiling using this but if she's at the bottom, she can stand no problem.
only downside is, on the website, a photo apears that you can fit a micke table, micke side table and smastad/platsa, but this is unfortunately incorrect and is 10cm short. probably photoshopped.

Easy to assemble in 2hrs, solid quality loft bedChinIkea delivery by ANC was easy and service was very good. Counted and ticked off all parts according to assembly instructions, then managed to assemble the bed in just under 2 hours without any issues at all.
Instructions were clear and easy to follow. Fully assembled bed was very solid and excellent quality. Only needed 9yr old son’s help for 5min holding up the ends for final assembly. Son loves it.
Make sure you tighten all the bolts and screws well. No squeaks 👍

Where do your children spend most of their waking hours at home? Quite likely the answer is in their bed. Because when life for slightly older children today often revolves around phones, tablets and friends, a lot more space than that “hub” isn’t really needed. With VITVAL loft bed and bunk bed, we wanted to make comfortable and cosy beds for all children who prefer hanging out there. But the goal was also to considerably reduce the amount of materials to save on nature's resources.
Metal is a durable and stable material and really suited VITVAL bed frames. The question was just how much we could reduce the amount of the metal used without decreasing stability and safety. Product developer Anna Carme and her colleagues performed detailed calculations and safety tests. "We came a long way", says Anna. "But it was not enough ― we thought the bed frames were still too heavy."

"The fabric is mounted on the frame", explains Anna. "And to ensure that the assembly is simple for all parents, we invited a number of people to test it out." The tests then led to the team dividing the fabric into sections and making the yellow edge bands more flexible so that they are easier to pull on. "I love playing detective, to look for and investigate what we have for different alternatives", says Anna. "Nothing beats the feeling when you finally find a good solution."

But we also wanted to save on nature’s resources and limit the amount of metal in the beds. So how do you achieve two so different goals at the same time? Our solution was to make the bed edges out of a strong polyester fabric that gave the bed a nice and cosy feel ― and we thereby reduced the metal by 30% in each bed.
