The rail can be mounted to the wall or ceiling using appropriate fittings.
The ceiling fittings are included, wall fittings are sold seperately.
The rail can be cut to the desired length with a hacksaw.
You can add the rail to a single layer combination to create a double layer combination.

worksGeorgethis new version of tracks is not as strong and ''workable'' as the previous. it's fiddly to connect fearing clips might break, and the track extender to connect the 2 tracks is poorly designed.
Worst ikea product everSergeyIf I could put minus one star I would put it. Please don't but this product. The rail is really too short, and if you connect it, the connectors are weak and your curtains would always stuck in the middle. If I could return this open product, I would return it immediately.
Bad Quality, Fragile/ unstable productParthDoesn’t clip well and the curtain flow is not good. Ikea products were never the greatest but the service and policies deteriorating day by day. Not worth it. Will try to avoid IKEA as much as I can. Poor quality and unreliable.
Vidga Curtain TrackPamReplaced all our pole tracks, which was all we could afford when we moved in to our new house. They were great but difficult to open and shut the curtain. The Vidga curtain track is really easy and smooth it's awesome. The curtains slide so much easier. We can slide back when great granddads visit, they no longer have to run through the curtains dirtying them when playing. YIPPEEE!!!! Wish we could've been able to select in different sizes. Best purchase from IKEA
Flimsy extension system for longer railsThomsonI bought this curtain rails system with the intention to extend it by another 10cm over the standard 140cm. The extension accessories provided are plastic parts and can barely hold the structure together. The practical outcome is a far cry to how IKEA claims it would perform. Gave way in less than a month after installation.
Vidga Single TrackTracyPerfect for hanging my curtains
Average S FoldArsalanthough it claims to have S fold, it lack necessary mechanism to produce real S Shaped fold. It looked very rough and cheap though I bought high quality sheers. another brand(freedom) in comparison offered better quality and actually produced S fold sheers.
Ceiling brackets not fit for purposeBrianaOnly two ceiling brackets included and they can’t hold the weight of a curtain in a gyprock ceiling.
Needs to include twice as many at least.
No spare part available for purchase.
Joiner parts flimsy and the curtains don’t slide along them from one section to another with any ease.

Finicky jointsDavidOverall we've been very happy with IKEA's curtains offerings, including this VIDGA system, with a significant exception being how precisely rails need to be aligned for the gliders to pass through joints smoothly. The provided connectors don't do a good job at this. I highly recommend getting 3D printed connectors that fit flush into the upper part of the rails and ensure a perfect fit - since switching to these the rails have worked flawlessly. I hope that IKEA will consider adjusting their included connectors to be more like this out of the box.
Fantastic ceiling track systemMarcusI Used these to hang curtains from the ceiling and I genuinely love them. Such a simple but elegant solution compared to wall mounted rods. The hook and gliders are a little fiddly and time consuming to install but once it’s done it’s great. I do find the glider gets stuck over the join which is a little annoying and I hope ikea can invent something that can help the glider smooth over the join better/or invent a centre stopper so the curtains can meet and stop in the middle at the join.

Perfect solutionMarkI have tried several curtain rod solutions for my 5.2m wide sliding doors, and have only found the Vidga system to offer this continuous run of smooth sliding tracks with this clever overhead hood solution every 140cm track length. Perfect solution for my requirement with a great balance between price and quality.
Why change?TerryI was completely happy with Kvartal having installed a number of these curtain tracks over the years. A near precision product of metal, grub screws and Allen keys, replaced now by a cheaper to produce (obviously) plastic connector/support system. Not happy with the fiddly flexible locking system nor was the 90 degree curve I bought, actually that. More like 85 which results in a clunky tracking of curtains around the bend (where it almost sent me). So, Ikea QC, check the supplier of curves for their product quality. I unhesitatingly would give Kvartal 5 stars in all categories, I grudgingly give Vidga 3.
