Great little machine needs more details prior to purchasing. KarinaWith Ikea, usually you get everything you need to install something. The UTDRAG needed additional ducting that is not supplied by ikea and that caused a few hiccups as it is required item for installation. The round charcoal filters I feel should also be included. Some of the items need to be handled delicately or can bend and the flap in our first one was broken. - this was resolved asap by Ikea customer service at no cost to us. Once all sorted and installed I have found this to be an excellent range hood and rarely need to use more than the lowest setting. The charcoal filters (seperate purchase) can be thrown in the dishwasher for easy cleaning so I’ll be purchasing a second set so I can have one in use at all times even when cleaning. Sleak and simple. Just ensure you watch a few installation videos to make sure it is all installed correctly- starting with the cabinets! 4

Good !TracyReplacing an older Utdrag…the same product……Not too noisy, lighting is good. Ours goes into a cupboard of ikeas and using carbon filters….the filters are different to the previous ones, seems a cheaper quality but hopefully doing the job. When you pull out the extension it also seems not as sturdy as the previous one. Hope this helps!4

When I am finished i just push the extension in and the light turns off and the fan turns off - ready to go the next time I need it. Sound levels

Sound levels for appliances are measured in decibels (dBs). Our extractor hoods have been tested in speed 3 to determine the dB level. The sound level of your extractor hood is affected by: • Type of installation. Exhaust-mode or recirculation-mode. • Length and diameter of the exhaust pipe between extractor and exhaust vent. The longer it is and the smaller the diameter, the louder it gets. • 90° bends. The more bends you have in the exhaust pipe, the greater the sound.

Quality

Sensitive to noise or have an open-plan home?

For extractor hoods, a noise level below 60 dB is considered low – roughly equivalent to a normal conversation between two people. We measure the noise level of our hoods at max speed, making it easier to compare different models. Note that sound levels decrease at lower speeds, and recirculating hoods are typically louder than those vented outdoors. Noise may also increase if the ducting is long or has several bends, as the air has to work harder to pass through the system.
