Labels all but impossible to removeAnonymous reviewerCompletely agree with other reviews. IKEA did not have the user in mind when designing the addition of a super sticky set of labels onto such a delicate material. I wasted 30mins carefully scraping them off and could only get 90% off and also made minor damage to the cork. The sticker also leaves a gummy residue on the cork. For a design company this is not good design.
This IKEA stick on labels!WeiyunCork mat is a nice and has just the right give on the desk. However, IKEA and many other companies really need to think about the quality and characteristics of their stick on labels on products. On the one I bought, it was extremely difficult to remove fully as the sticker delaminated and broke, meaning that I had to spend 20mins using my nail to scrape them off, all the time risking damage to the soft cork surface. Not worth the effort had I known it’s such a pain to get it prepared for use. So unfortunately had to give a middle score for the poorly thought through packaging.

The edges have crumbled a little after a few years of use. Note it is heat sensitive and after using a laptop on it for a while the area bends up. Leave it to cool and it's flat again the next day. The product label is hard to remove, wish IKEA would make them out of vinyl so they are easier to remove.

It's a great buy for adult-homes only. If you have children who like to use your work area, be prepared for it to start showing multiple marks which cannot be removed.

What is cork?
Cork comes from cork oak bark which is carefully cut from the tree’s trunk. It then takes about nine years until the tree forms new bark that can be harvested. Since a cork oak can live to be aged 150-200, each one produces a lot of cork during its lifetime. Cork has several good qualities as a material: it’s lightweight, flexible, waterproof and naturally resists fire. We use it in furniture and accessories.
