The light's shade is notGregThe light's shade is not transparent. That means you only see the light that escapes from the top and bottom. Shade remains dark. Also, assembly of the base with a metal piece was never straight and the shade was off angle. Weired design.
Wonderful IKEA staff exchanged the SNOBYAR with the BLIDVADER table lamp. The later has a shade that lights up and gives out a beautiful warm light from the same bulb - Philips warm white 3.5 W 470 lumen E27.
