Sad I Can't Buy MoreLeanneI bought two of these for my teeny home, and they are perfect. Easy to clean and look nice with the smaller sized Sandsberg table I bought. Easy to assemble and stable on my carpeted floor. I like the minimalist look of them and the price is good value. I wanted to order two more but unfortunately the red/brown can't be bought for delivery anymore. Hopefully they will return in the near future.5
RegretsBarbaraI wish I'd spent more on dining chairs as I've only had those for a month and they're wobbly and lose random nuts and screws on the floor! They need tightening all the time and they don't even get used that much. Feel cheap, not very stylish, not particularly comfortable to sit on but fine for mealtime. I've decided to move them to my undercover patio and to get some nicer ones for my dining room. I learnt from my mistake and will invest a bit more in better quality next time.2
Cheap but worksHayleyIs a little wobbly on hard floors but for the price cant complain. Perfect for kids desk chair.5
Very good sturdy, quality for low priceGregI needed a basic chair for specific task in the house, and this low-priced chair turned out to be sturdy and very good quality.5
Sturdy and comfy.IanEasily assembled, sturdy classy chair for the price. Simplicity at its best.5
Great fitChrisPerfect fit for our older style IKEA Lerhamn dining room table, would only add chair pillows if you going to sit pro longed time at the table for added comfort. Easy to assemble.4

NaDavidGood sturdy chair5
Perfect solutionMarilynChairs are great size and suprisingly comfortable ..the back rest in perfect positiion..and they stack away neatly until next needed ...fantastic on time delivery to my door !5
Ok for the priceDenaI thought they would be a bit bigger considering it said 110kg maximum weight. Not sure if I would use them for a heavier person. The chair does look nice in the black colour and would suit kids or small adult well I'm tall and found the chair alright to sit on even though it felt smaller. Easy to put together and look easy to wipe and clean . Handy for spare chairs and can stack when not in use.4

SANDSBERG stands steady in everyday life

Dining tables and chairs have perhaps some of the toughest jobs in the home. Day after day, they stand steady when you throw yourself down for a quick breakfast, when the dinner drags on for several hours or the dining area transforms into a study area. That’s why we put SANDSBERG table and chairs through really tough tests – just like all our products.

No matter what it says on the price tag, you can trust that our tables and chairs, and all the products you find at IKEA, meet strict international safety and quality demands. “We also continue to test on a regular basis as long as a product is available in our range,” says Magnus Wernersson, one of our product developers, who took part in the work with SANDSBERG.

Simulating strains

IKEA uses certified test labs, which means that all tests are done according to international standards. “All our tables undergo both static and fatigue tests to check strength and durability over time. For example, in one of the tests, you let the table fall from a height of a few centimetres to simulate dropping it when refurnishing or moving.”

Quality for different bodies

There’s always a focus on quality and safety already from the start in the product development. “We know from experience already when we do our sketches what dimensions chair legs require. We can also simulate different strains the chair is exposed to in different computer programs,” says Magnus and tells that even when we think we sit entirely still on a chair, we actually move and change the load. “In the development work, we need to take into account the fact that people sit differently and have different bodies. The relatively thin back on the SANDSBERG chair is developed to give flexibility and comfortable support to all backs – and cope with everyday life in your home.”
