Awkward to use. Practical colour. OlenaThe colour is very practical for the purpose. The quality (durability and insulation) are great.
However, in my experience it's not fit for purpose... You cannot use a pattern of a knitted winter mitten to create an oven mitten. Here's why: an oven mitten is made of rigid material and that restricts the movement of the thumb (unlike the mittens one may wear in winter).
Free movement of the thumb ensures a good grip of a hot and heavy tray or pot. That's crucial.
IKEA had a great oven mitten which i bought about 10 years ago and used till it eventually it wore out. It had skinny straight stripes (almost lines) pattern in brown colour palette, where the section for the thumb was on top of (not to the side of) the section for the other four fingers. *That* was the best oven mitten I've ever had. Please, bring it back.
Oven mitt that burns and melt HughUnfortunately upon first use of taking a baking dish out of the oven with this mitt it burnt through.. not ideal for its intended job
Good for handling hot thingsPhilipLike my wife and her cooking
Great size for 'man' handsJacquelineBought these for my husband who was unable to use our standard oven gloves due to size. He loves these!
A bit rigidShanninWorks perfectly for the purpose but I think is a little rigid so not super comfortable when using
gloves too big.TrevorGloves too big.
GreatKellieLove these mits as they are thick and a good length when reaching into the oven
Not practical JenniI found the gloves to be too stiff to be safely used. I tried washing and tumble drying them but they didn’t soften.
Great value for moneyKevinGreat value for money

Good, but a bit hardJackieGood, but a bit hard to manipulate
Superior to allLuisaI bought a light grey set of these over a decade ago and still use them. People have bought me fancy heatproof gloves, and they’re just never as good

Exactly what I was looking forSteveGreat value
Oven gloveJaneThe dark colour works well for heavy duty us and lasts longer than pale colours that invariably show discolouration and staining.
should give dimensions on siteLindaThis glove is far too big for the largest mans's hand. Hence unwieldy and dangerous.

Oven glovesAnnaVery good, comfortable fit. Good price.
It’s okElizabethMaybe it’s because I have small hands but I find it too stiff to use. Quite a large glove. Might wash it and see if it loosens up

Material
What is cotton?
Cotton is one of the world's most appreciated and used natural fibres. Textiles in cotton are soft, hardwearing and can be washed at high temperatures. They are also good at breathing and absorbing moisture – making them pleasant to wear close to the body. Today at IKEA we use more and more recycled cotton and strive to make sure that all the new cotton we use has been grown and produced with less and less amounts of pesticides, fertilisers and water.
