The curved shield creates a feeling of private space and makes the desk also look nice from behind.
The shield has a narrow opening where you can lead cables out to the back.

However, some parts such as the curved wood pieces are not of their best quality and screw holes don't aligns. And some drawers pilot holes are not biting to screws well.

One of the shelving had inaccurate screw holes ChristineNever really had a problem with IKEA products before this, but one of the drawer had holes drilled inaccurately, specifically the right sided drawer, so I couldn't install my screw properly. I don't have a drill so I couldn't drill a hole either. I've contacted IKEA about this and arranged for a replacement part for delivery, even choosen the dates and times so I could stay home for the delivery to arrive, but it never came. I tried contacting IKEA again regarding the issue but I was left on hold for 30 mins or so on the phone again like before, so I've given up and used super glue instead. My drawer is still wobbly and I cannot believe I paid so much money for a wobbly drawer on what could've been a beautiful desk. Honestly, not worth the risk.

Minimalist yet functional SabrinaThe desk has a good size and having the doors are very practical. It is a very sturdy desk and building it was an ease. Thank you ikea, we love our new desks!
