Effective, but lower qualityLaraI bought these specifically to use getting toast out of a toaster - even with the thing unplugged, I don't like the idea of sticking my fingers, or a bit of metal, in there.
They're also really handy for grabbing the toast after it's risen out of the toaster properly - rather than burning your fingers.
Don't try to make them wider than they are naturally. Bamboo is amazingly strong when force is placed at a 90 degree angle to the direction of its growth - but if you pull the two prongs open, there's a better than 50 percent chance the bamboo (or glue) will split.
Sadly that means if these aren't wide enough for the job you had in mind, you need to find wider tongs, not try to modify these (at least without soaking them in water a long time, and slowly, gently adjusting their shape..)
These are cheap and cheerful - good for toasters (see above), emergency marshmallow toasting, BBQ serving tongs that can then be "repurposed" in the garden as stakes to tie plants to, etc.4
Great for toastMegI bought these tongs specifically for removing toast from the toaster, because metal tongs are dangerous. They work a treat and are much better for the environment than metal or silicone.5
Amazing product SherihanI always wanted to keep wooden cutlery and tongs in my kitchen because we can use them with any utensil. This is perfect for the requirement.5
Strong & handy itemAnthonyWe bought these tongs for a party for 100 guests to serve from a banquet table. 25 pieces & once used we gave them to an op shop.5
Excellent Value and Non-ToxicAndrewExcellent for avoiding the chemicals of silicon based implements. Opening could be a little wider, but still very useful. Recommended.5
Good grabbers RobinUse these when cooking as they don’t scratch the pan. Also great when tossing and serving a salad. 5
ToastieSabineBest tool, this is perfect for getting bagels or croissants out of the toaster. 5
For the price, amazingDianaHad other wooden tongs (that cost more!) and these are by far the best. They are not very flexible so you do need to be careful with them, but I use them to grab pizzas or hot things from the mini oven, and to flip things on the grill, or when sautéing/frying and they are great! Have 4 pairs now and none have broke so far. As long as you don't grip them too high up, and keep in mind they have a narrow grip then you can get good use out of them. For the price (on sale as of writing this) they are amazing. They are not for toaster or delicate grip as they are big. More for salads or cooking etc. 5
Looks fine. Useful in kitchenGlendaLooks fine.
Useful in kitchen & does what it should.5
Useful clipper/tongsJulieA fabulously priced, eco-friendly clipper/tongs option. So reasonably priced and great quality. A bit stiff to close sometimes and not always perfect gripping but super handy for anything that isn't delicate.4
I like these tongs.ChristineThey are a mixture of tongs and chopsticks. Very special.5
Wooden salad to gsLibbyI purchased these to go with a wooden salad bowl as a gift and one for myself. I found them useless, looks great but not practical. Would not purchase them again1
Broke before first useAlinaI got the tongs straight out of my delivery and tried how they handle and they gave out on a dry run and broke in to two.1

Looks great, bit tough to useLarryGreat looking tongs, well made, however a bit hard to use without exerting a fair bit of force. Wouldn't recommend them to anyone with a weakness in the hands.4
