As a designer I will recommend that ( I did it my self just with L flat brackets from Bunnings and it’s pretty stable4

Great. But too long for mattressAnonymous reviewerMy daughter loves this bed. It's sturdy, practical and looks great too. The only issue is that double mattresses are 190cm in length and the bed base is 200cm in length so there is quite a big gap at the bottom.4
It took me approx 5PicaIt took me approx 5 hours to assemble the bed on my own and I am very happy with the result.
The bedhead was separate and was complicated to attach to an old, lathe and plaster wall. All in all, I am very happy with the complete set and pat myself on the back for having assembled it all on my own.5

Awesome and unique bedWilliamIt was such a challenging job to build this bed but at the end it is so with it, so many storage options and makes your space clear. Definitely need one more person to help you to speed up the process. Though you may find it a bit awkward with the rails, some of is a bit off balanced but that could be my experience in building it4

1) it's very very heavy.. once assembled.. its not going to move..
2) the headframe is made to be screwed to a wall.. which I think is a bad idea especially if you change bed.. you will be left with about 10 holes.. I made a "stand" for it.. and bolted it to the back of the bed.. much better idea which would have been easy for ikea to do.. not sure many can build there own stand..
3) the finish quality is really degrading in ikea.. the same surface in some places smooth white.. and in others its like orange peel.. pretty poor and Ikea's standard definitely went down.. not a cheap bed either.3
Drawers were a bit trickyMiaDrawers were a bit tricky but I put this together all by myself. Had help to drill holes and lift the bed head though. Very heavy bed but looks good and lots of storage.4
