Non stick but very poorMathewNot a happy customer when it comes to this fry pan. It's definitely non stick and retains heat well. It's probably better for gas burners. Using it with induction is less than ideal due to uneven heating as mine came warped, middle barely heats properly and eggs will slide to the side. Should have just put some more money to get a better quality one. Never again, other Ikea pans much better. 3

What is sol-gel ceramic non-stick coating?

Sol-gel non-stick is often called ceramic coating and is an increasingly common replacement for other non-stick coatings in frying pans. It comprises mostly of silica and is created by applying a gel-like solution to the product and drying it in an oven. The result is a hard, glossy surface with non-stick properties. Sol-gel can be produced in different colours, it withstands high heat, is easy to use and clean – and allows cooking with little or no fat.
