Ikea ovenJulieUsing choice recommendation I reviewed the Ikea choices. Very happy with a cost effective simple accurate temp oven. No complaints 6mths on5
Door glass out of the box ScottFreshly installed and the inner rubber seal has left a permanent brown stain where it’s been in context with the door , it hasn’t even been used. 2
SpaciousChristineWorks a treat, looks beautiful, roomier than you expect, matches stensund colour exactly, heats evenly and doesn't heat the surrounding cupboards.5
Paint peeling off the oven doorTina-LouiseI purchased this about 3 years ago and noticed the paint on the door around the glass has started to bubble up and peel off! I will have to replace it with a different oven as it looks older than it is and I’m worried cleaning it will peel off more paint. Disappointed as I purchased this to go in my new kitchen and wasn’t the cheapest option either.2
Temperature calibration is terribleLizI bought this oven when I put in an Ikea kitchen about 4 years ago (the cupboards and drawers are great). I didn’t use the oven much for several years and the difficultly I had making the occasional cake I put down to learning a new oven. I recently put a thermometer in the oven after needing to leave a slow cooked cake in for a ridiculous period of time and found that the temperature of the oven is actually 30 degrees celsius lower than the dial setting. If I was doing the kitchen again, I’d use the Ikea cupboards and buy a standalone stove. Other issues I have with the oven are one side is hotter that the other and the temperature intervals on the dial are 50 degree celsius, where our standard is 20 degree intervals. Some ikea products are great and others are very poor. My oven isn’t fit for purpose…1
Works well, cooks foodReadeWe’re happy with our new oven, no issues with the oven, it works well and cooks a great roast… We did need the electrician to upgrade our power point and fuse when it was installed even though it is plug and play. (Being why the services of an electrician is advised)5
Solid performance DavidGreat performance for a basic oven. Just wish it came with an extra oven rack.5
DisappointedDenisePurchased in July, oven light has just blown in Sept. Griller not as good as Oven we purchased in 2014 when we did a complete Ikea Kitchen.3
Enamel coating is starting to detach on faceLorenaIt’s a very good looking oven in a traditional kitchen but the external cream enamel coating has started to bubble up around the glass on the door. I’m devastated by this as it ruins the look of my kitchen. Also it’s murder to dismantle the door to clean the inside glass. 3

Plenty of cooking options!SusanNice oven, easy to use. cooking shelf a bit flimsy and lots of steam comes out when opening, but cooks well and heat very fast. Nice to have white option and looks great in kitchen with white induction cooktop. Recommended purchase!5

Stylish & simpleJekaterinaStraight forward oven for every day use. Operation is simple and easy. No need of super extras. Exactly what you need for non professional, just normal house cooking.5
Great oven easy to cleanDariaGreat oven easy to clean5
Great oven but needs another shelfCharlotteI’ve used the oven and grill a few times now and am very happy with it. The solid tray is great for grilling but I’d prefer a second wire shelf for oven use. Overall, a very effective oven at a good price.3

MATTRADITION Forced air oven, IKEA 300 white

Kitchen appliances for the many

How can we best assist you in your cooking, without actually being in the kitchen? One way, is to make high quality appliances at prices that leave more money left for good ingredients. To make this happen, we’re working together with carefully selected suppliers – experts we feel are the best in their field at delivering what people need in their everyday. This allows us to offer fully equipped, functional kitchens, with appliances and all the other things you need, all in one place.

Creating good things becomes a whole lot easier when you work together. And when you do it with a good amount of trust and understanding, it becomes fun and interesting.

Aha-moments during the development

Bruno Lizotte, who works with product development at IKEA of Sweden in Älmhult, tells that the development of the kitchen appliances is done hand in hand together with the suppliers. “We have a lot of experience from life at home so we share our ideas and our knowledge to get the suppliers to see things from our perspective. Then we find solutions together to improve the life in and around the kitchen,” he says. In turn, the suppliers contribute with their expertise, for example hard facts on materials, technical solutions and innovations they have in the pipeline. “By being generous we learn from each other. It’s a way to challenge old truths about how things are supposed to be done. It usually leads to a couple of aha-moments for everyone involved,” notes Bruno.

Knowledge through home visits

Some of the knowledge that’s shared comes from IKEA home visits. It’s a method to see how people in different cultures live and manage with some of life’s ups and downs in their own homes. For example, we ask; what do you do in the kitchen, except cooking? How do you use the space? Do you have friends over? What would you like to improve? What are your hopes, dreams and wishes? “The insights we get from the visits are transferred to the people we work with so we can develop better products together, and create an easier life at home,” says Bruno.

Easier days in the heart of the home

Good kitchen appliances should fit with the rest of the kitchen and with the people who use them. We all have different needs, tastes and wallets. Some of us cook because we love to, some of us because we have to. That’s why a considerable amount of time in the development process is spent on creating a selection of durable products – in different styles, functions and price levels. And always with quality as the main focus. It means a whole deal of fine-tuning, trying ideas and choosing the ones that make most use for people. “Togetherness and enthusiasm are important words to us when we develop products. In short, it means to work with people that believe in the same cause as we do, but also to respect each other’s efforts. When we manage to live up to that, we can make a true difference and contribute to a better life at home for more people. That’s really something to aim for,” says Bruno.
