Difficult to assemble NeethuThis is by far the worst product I’ve ever bought from ikea. The assembly process was extremely frustrating. The pri drilled holes and didn’t align properly with the screws, making it almost impossible to put parts together . It took a lot of time and energy,and I am still not satisfied with the final result. I usually like IKEA products, but this one was huge disappointment. Definitely not worth the effort1

Disappointing Bed Frame – Slats Keep Falling Through!OliviaI usually love Ikea’s designs, but the Malm bed frame has been a huge letdown. The main issue is the slats—they’re way too small and just don’t stay in place. No matter how carefully I set them up, they keep slipping through the grooves, which makes the bed feel unstable and uncomfortable. I’ve had to constantly adjust and reposition them, and it’s honestly become a nuisance. This has also caused the metal under neath to bend and get misshapen It’s frustrating because the frame itself looks sleek and fits perfectly with my room, but this slat issue is such a deal-breaker. I expected better from Ikea. At this point, I’m considering buying an entirely new frame because it’s just not working out. Would not recommend unless you're prepared to deal with constant slat issues and like to fall through your bed regularly 1

Easy to assemble (my 16 yr old did it by himself). His room is somewhat smaller so was worried the frame would be overwhelming but it looks great and room for storage bins underneath.

What is veneer?

A veneer is a thin wooden sheet fixed on things like particleboards to add a durable surface and a natural wood look – so we enjoy the many benefits of wood without using solid wood. The most common veneer types are birch, ash, oak and beech and we’ve made a special UV lacquer that helps preserve the wood's natural structure. A benefit with a slightly thicker veneer is how you can repair and sand the surface if it’s damaged to give furniture a longer and more beautiful life.
