Great gift for kidsTarrynWe have one permanently in our car with stationery, sticker / activity and colouring books and it’s a great option for long car rides or while out at a restaurant.5
Ok product AdrianOk product, which if would have benefited from a bit more high/capacity. But it is still a great value for money.3

Great for my Granddaughter.JohnGreat for my Granddaughter.4
MalaVanessaGreat to keep kids stationary & art neatly together in the car. Would have been amazing if the hard platform doubled as a whiteboard for times you run out of paper.3
Perfect gift for children to take their fun with themMarianneI bought this as a gift for our granddaughter, although she isn't old enough to use it yet, so I will put it away until the time is right. I loved that it was a hard, easy clean surface with a holder for paper to be slid into place and held, with a roomy zip-up interior that can hold sheets of paper, pencils, crayons, texters etc., all of which come in the same range as the carrier. It's a bit like a briefcase for adults that kids can put all their artistic creations and creating items into and carry with them. I'm delighted with the Mala.5
Great for road tripsAshleyGot 1 of these for each of my children for when we went on holidays and the worked well in the car as a drawing table5
Proud kids flaunting their own kit :)SGreat for out and about with kids; it’s compact and good base for kids to draw and write anywhere; no sharp edges; if it had some additional whiteboard provision, it would have solved another purpose too.4

Brilliant to keep your children amused without techAnitaWe love this and always keep in the car stocked. Great for keeping our daughter occupied whilst waiting for food. Also handy when going to our friends houses. No tech involved just pencils, paper, books (colouring in or wipe on/off)5
Grandchildren lovesMarieI have bought three of these, my grandchildren love them. They use them in the car, and when they come to visit. Very portable with the handle.5
MalaWendy-LeeBad design, the pencils and paper are stored inside the zip bag, but the child using it must turn the case over to use the flat back, therefore tipping the pencils and crayons out....1

MÅLA Portable drawing case, red, 35x27 cm

For all creative little explorers

Drawings all over the kitchen table and coloured felt pens without caps. Does it sound familiar? This is definitely part of living with children, and actually something to be happy about. Painting, drawing, and crafting are in fact not just fun, but important work, and a way for your child to develop. When we created the MÅLA series, we wanted to take children’s creation very seriously and listened to the true experts: the children themselves.

We always start with the child’s perspective to understand what they really need. In this project, we found facts and inspiration in pedagogy focusing on creativity. “We realised that creativity isn’t just any play for children, they’re little researchers who use creation to understand the world around them,” says Ina Tidbeck Sjöblom who was part of creating the MÅLA series.

Made for busy artists

The team interviewed groups of children who got to try out prototypes and provide their points of view. What were their favourite colours? What did they think of the paper? “The children had very strong and sensible opinions. We also realised how they use drawing and painting gear. For example, if you’re four years old and in the middle of making a drawing, you don’t always think of putting the cap back on the felt pen. So, these pens will last up to three days without caps.” To ensure high quality at the right price, the development work was allowed to take extra time. “What children do and how they do it is super important. That’s why we considered all their feedback and made sure the products met their needs.”

Easy to get started

The MÅLA series has been around for a long time, but it keeps growing and evolving as we see new needs and get new ideas. All parts should be easy to grab and use whenever inspiration strikes. “The child shouldn’t need a parent nearby to start drawing or painting. Being able to do things on your own is an important part of development. You grow with the task.”
