Sturdy little unitPaulineThis is a great sturdy and good looking little bench with cupboard below. Can be used for all sorts of things. I purchased it for my Grandson's bedroom for his games and puzzles. The only issue with it is the instructions. I have put together many IKEA furniture items and the instructions for this were probably the hardest. The pictures for some reason are very hard to follow. Apart from this I highly recommend this product.5
Great little shoe rack. DavidLike other reviewers have warned, the instructions for this product can be confusing (even by IKEA standards!). You have to be really observant and study the drawings carefully to ensure you install parts the right way around or you'll run into trouble later on in the process. Also agree some screws need an alarming amount of force to start off with but then go in fine. I feel like the instructions should have noted this I only knew by reading the reviews first.4
Looks great but hard to put together.TrishIt's probably up there in the harder things to build from Ikea. The unit itself looks great once assembled, but the journey to get there wasn't straight forward. Missing screws - thankfully my husband had a drawer full of different sizes and he had to drill out some holes where they were non-existent. The design and construction definitely needs a review by Ikea.3
Very hard to construct - others say the same GillThis product was a nightmare to assemble. Firstly, the screw holes have been spray painted over so the screws don’t fit the holes without great effort. We had to force the screws on their own into the holes to make the hole big enough to use. Only with a very strong person and an electric screwdriver was this possible. Secondly, the construction process described in the manual was close to almost impossible to follow. Looking now at other reviews it seems this problem has been flagged to IKEA for many months and has not been addressed. It’s disappointing as the final product looks good and works well, but this was the hardest assembly process we have experienced for decades! 1
Almost perfectAndyThis shoe bench is functional and aesthetically pleasing solution to my hallway. The only downside is the PITA tiny screws that require plenty of patience to drive it into the sheet metal panels during the assembly of this rack: if only IKEA provided some lubrication oil to assist in that...4
Good looking, but confusing manualNanBought this today, the screws were terribly difficult to screw in, on the manual, it did not mention to use force or pressure when screwing in. Took it to IKEA and then took it back home. Used pressure to assemble, still a few screws did not go in completely. Can still sit on us, looks good, however, wouldn't recommend a heavy person to sit on it because now it makes noises due to the loose screws. The instructional manual is another disaster. First, they should have mentioned using force when screwing. No inherent IKEA items I have bought required this much pressure on the furniture when screwing, except for this piece. So they should really indicate this clearly in the manual. Second, some I.ages in the manual, eg. PAGE 7,8,9, are insulting my IQ. I have assembled many IKEA items, sofa, shelves, cabinets, etc. However, this manual is so vague, difficult to navigate, some pictures are confusing. I suspect that there are two bars missing from the images in the first two pages . 3
Product really nice and sturdy BinuEasy to assemble and sturdy enough to hold the weight. Good amount of shelf, a nice to have product. 5
Difficult but possible MinIm glad I read the reviews before purchasing as I was mentally prepared for how challenging it was to put this together. You really need to use your weight to push the screw in and it takes numerous tries for each screw so you need to be extremely patient and persistent. Now that its built, it's beautiful and a great shoe rack, you just need a cushion for the top. 4
Practical but arrived damaged, and is difficult to build.RoseThe final piece looks good and is practical, but it arrived damaged (dent in the top panel) and it is not the easiest thing to put together. 2
Beautiful and stylish, if you lose bits to it though it’s a disaster Anonymous reviewerGreat looking units that look nice on the front porch. Fiddly to put together and yes if you lose little bits to it you’re in trouble, but well worth it for the look4
Stupid designMingtaiAssembling this cabinet is really a disaster. I had to dismantle the assembled parts and reinstall them in other positions, and the screws are totally incompatible, requiring a lot of effort to tighten. It took me three hours to assemble one cabinet, it's too inhumane.1
Good looking but installation is a disasterWenqiIt took us 5 hours for installation because the screwers inside the box are not matching the hole. We need to use screwdriver to make holes bigger, which is a totally disaster. 2
Great look on front pouchFong CheeStill looks new after several weeks 👍🏼4
