FantasticDebbieBought these to support the mattress in our camper van, and add air circulation. Great outcome, solved our problem ,and a fair cheaper alternative to purchasing a new mattress.5
Good ProductMikeAssembling is a bit tedious but it’s a good product.5
Not the easiest build, but quite nice overallNaomiIf you're making this at the same time as building a bed frame, definitely build this first, because you'll need a bit of space to comfortably assemble. When assembling, we couldn't really work out the differences between the different shades of grey, so might not be using the product to its full potential, but it's still quite a comfortable and quiet base regardless. Just note that the slats will raise the bed up quite a bit; if you're using a frame like Tonstad, make sure to put the slat catch on the lowest possible setting.4
A bit fiddly with poor instructions and concaves are unevenJasonHad to bypass the instructions to allow enough width the install the slats into the plastic holders. Although we didn't get caught out, the instructions to line up the grey vs white slats wasn't obvious and could be better explained. Some of the concaves on the slats weren't as good as others leading to unevenness. On a positive they definitely DO NOT squeak when moving around on the mattress. 3

Cracks every time I lay on it🙂 DaniThe malm bed frame is so nice but that bed base squeaks a lot it’s a nightmare trying to know why it squeaks so much. Ikea can you please please please make a bed base that doesn’t squeak that much like i paid this amount for it to be bad quality and so poor made🫠1
A little tricky to install but works very well and is sturdy. SharonPerhaps an illustration on best way to insert the slats. I had to look it up on YouTube. 5
Great SlatsMelanieWe bought these to replace some very cheap slats on our bed, made a huge difference without us having to replace the whole bed as we loved the frame. A hassle to put together, but worth it.4

What is layer-glued wood?

With layer-glued wood it’s possible to create flexible and extra strong constructions with curved shapes, like frames for armchairs. The secret is a technique where many layers of thin wood veneer are glued together and then pressed into the desired shape. We often use wood like birch, beech, ash and even bamboo – and strive to use the raw material as smartly and efficiently as possible to avoid waste. Just like solid wood, it has natural variations in structure and colour.
