Battery life makes them worthlessJeromeThey light up well, but i get probably 60 minutes worth of light before i need to recharge. Which is walking into my walking in wardrobe maybe 8 time a day (2 people). I’m using the ikea rechargable batteries recommend.
Light up dark places.NatalieThe lights work as expected. Easy to recharge with USB charger. Very useful in the bedroom and in the wardrobe. We love them!
Good product but need better mounting adhesive. EstellaI love these lights so much, I have 3 of them with rechargeable batteries. They work perfectly, except that one of them keeps falling down from where I’ve put it. The adhesive isn’t sticking to the surface, even though I cleaned before and the others aren’t falling. Can’t find a replacement sticker but either, should be available.
Good for the priceJoyYou do need the batteries and if you want to charge them whilst they are in the unit then you need to get a usb cable and charger. (If you do this then you also only have to deal with the fiddly battery cover once). It will work with other AA batteries but you then lose out on the rechargeable magic.
My only beef is that you can't buy the little, circular plastic attachment buttons as spare parts. I would like to move mine around but without extras of these that isn't an option.
Still good for the price though and I find i get decent battery life putting it on the sensor.
Good value for money AnnaI’ve read a few reviews and felt the need to leave mine. We’ve had these for 7 weeks now and did not have to charge batteries yet, it is on sensor mode and is giving a light glow when wardrobe door is open or when we walk past. For the price we paid it is an excellent product.
simple hack…MichaelOut of the box battery longevity is world class terrible. But if you face the light toward you the sensor then becomes hand-wave activated rather than hypersensitive to all movement. In this orientation, it’s marginally less convenient, but it has lovely light quality and batteries should last many months.
Poorly designed battery compartmentDavidI found it very irritating to use the battery compartment as the batteries will pop out unless firmly held in place while puting the thin, flimsy, fiddly, cover back on.
Installation: The 2 mounting plastic mounts have too be screwed into place using exact positioning otherwise the light strip won't attach properly and you will then be forced to reposition where you want the strip to be.
30cm FaultyZoeHad 2x that I returned as regardless of setting (auto/on) and types of AA batteries, they would turn off after 10 seconds or less.
My 6x white 50cm ones work fine. Maybe just unlucky or the 30cm model is worse?

Great productChrisAwesome lighting for our dark cupboards, easy to install and great with the movement sensor.
The need for lightLouiseThis is perfect for our needs for sensor lights in our new walk in wardrobes. It stays on for about 30 seconds afterwards and gives a beautiful glow for my jewellery, mirror and perfume area.
Easily clicks in and out of place. We used screws to hold it up and I put it on to charge every 10-12 days. I let it charge during the day when I'm out for the day. It takes a few good hours. We use rechargeable energizer batteries because IKEA didn't have their own batteries in stock to buy at the same time
Fell offJaniceMotion sensor and timed switch-off works great. Had to buy separate batteries. Good lighting.
However, it fell off the two fixtures a couple days after I put it up :( Now it won't click into them anymore.
I need to find another way to secure it.
Not Recommended!BrianThe battery life in the light is very poor. Even with high quality Lithium batteries, they're dead in a week.

TWO have spontaneously stopped workingEsiayoI purchased two kolvattens less than a week ago and both of them have stopped working SPONTANEOUSLY after mounting

What about the batteries?! Useless product without them!LauraGiven IKEA AU not longer stock the 2400 batteries, the product is pretty much redundant. Same goes with all their other 'rechargeable' lighting. Pointless selling the lights if you don't sell the batteries.
Dump sensor lightSumIt doesn't matter in daylight or night time. The sensor got triggered no matter the light situation in the surrounding.
The adhesive doesn't adhere! JillThis is the second one of these I've bought- the first one was fine, but on this one the adhesive stickers to hold it up just don't stick, it keeps falling off. It's in a spot that I can't drill into, so really needed the adhesive option to work, but it doesn't. There doesn't seem to be any way of getting replacement stickers, so it's a bit useless now. Otherwise it's a very nice product.
A small upgrade for great impactKateThis wardrobe light was inexpensive, easy to install, and easy to look after. It works perfectly and gave my life an upgrade. I feel a bit luxy when I open the wardrobe and the light comes on.
