Avoid heating a dry and empty frying pan too quickly, especially with the induction hob's booster function, as this can cause the pan to warp and negatively affect the coating's non-stick properties.

The new Ceramic Coating is a JOKEEmmanuelThe new ceramic coating is very good at first, however it only lasts for a month or two. After that, the pan will start develop burn marks and the non sticking property starts to decline. I wish IKEA still do the old coating, but probably because of the PFOA.2

No need to be concerned! I love them! I don't use s/steel utensils when cooking to avoid scratching the surface. I hand wash and typically do not use oils/ butters when frying. Very easy to care for and great for cooking pancakes/ omelettes etc. Very happy with my purchase.5

    What is sol-gel ceramic non-stick coating?

    Sol-gel non-stick is often called ceramic coating and is an increasingly common replacement for other non-stick coatings in frying pans. It comprises mostly of silica and is created by applying a gel-like solution to the product and drying it in an oven. The result is a hard, glossy surface with non-stick properties. Sol-gel can be produced in different colours, it withstands high heat, is easy to use and clean – and allows cooking with little or no fat.
