They slightly altered the plan I brought with me so it was more workable Just before paying and ordering , the kitchen planning staff sat with me again and we finalised the last details I bought all IKEA appliances to go in the kitchen. Oven , microwave , dishwasher , exhaust hood , sink etc and it was all delivered together . This is my 4th ikea kitchen I have installed. Each one is different . I have been pleased with the quality that has endured over several decades in one of the houses and it still looks great .5

    These fronts won't lastMikhailThese door fronts look good but the laminate is very thin and soft so they can be dented very easily. Once the laminate is damaged and exposed to water (i.e. when wiped with a wet sponge) these would swell. Don't even think of putting these in a rental - these fronts would be damaged quickly! Also, due to the texture and white colour, they collect more dirt and require more cleaning effort. You can clearly see this in the IKEA showroom - these are the only fronts that look dirty. It's not that bothersome in real life, but just something to keep in mind. It's great value for money but if you want the fronts to last for years then better get another more expensive model.3

    What are foil and laminate?

    Some wood materials need protection with a durable and easy-care foil or laminate surface. The choice depends on the end use and desired finish. We often use paper foil for storage furniture, while plastic foil suits demanding areas like kitchens and bathrooms. Today, the plastic we use is mostly recycled and our goal is to use plastic from renewable sources. Laminate is made of resin-impregnated paper, which adds a durable and moisture-resistant surface for countertops.
