A perfect size dining table, that extends!PeterHelped my mum select a new dining table. She like clean white lines so this was ideal. It was the same width as her old table, and 10cm shorter - but extends 60cm to be longer than her old dining table. My brother worked out the extension process when he first went over - so it must be relatively easy (I'm the practical minded one). Assembly was okay but laborious. There is a lot to do and it is quite technical. But an hour later we had it solid and upright. The instructions printed are only just good enough - Some critical screw selection is unclear - but being experienced handyman I worked it out. A very firm fit on the extension catch meant that I had to loosen it a bit and adjust until the table top clicked in place. Overall, looks good and excellent value for money.5

Love the design of this tableAliceLove the design of this table but it's quite complicated to assemble. My partner is really experienced at putting IKEA furniture together but it took him about 4 hours. The alignment of the extension latch was complicated, perhaps due to overtightening? Overall it's a great table.5
Some adjustment is required but is still good value. SueSome adjustment was needed to get the top when extended to clip down. Otherwise very easy to assemble.4

Not worth itAnonymous reviewerTruly the worst item I've ever had to assemble from ikea. Use of drill is a must, as the screws are so poor quality they immediate strip when trying to assemble with screwdriver. I'm sure there are better options from ikea than this self assembly nightmare. 1

The table is a great size for four people, it looks great and the extension works easily to give that extra bit of room.
We matched it with four Ekedalen chairs, which are well matched and also sturdy.
I was surprised at the stability and rigidity of the table - absolutely no rocking, loose legs etc.
All in all it's a great buy and I have no reservations in thoroughly recommending this product.5
BettyBiserkaVery happy with purchase but you need very experienced person to put all together. Lucky my husband is an engineer but still was swearing when puting together, so much parts. Will be nice if just legs to attach and everything else is done by IKEA. Only would like if table is stained as I need to be careful not to give grandkids to draw on it or leave something hot without protection. Only bought this as I need extension table when family comes but good for the money I paid$399 real wood will be Minimum $15005

Ekedalen tablePamelaThis table is very heavy and solid, The extending part works very well. It is a bit more complicated to assemble but not beyond the capabilities of an older lady on her own if the directions are followed faithfully and carefully. I assembled it on top of a kitchen bench, but it needed 2 strong men to lift it onto the floor (kind neighbours helped). It looks really more expensive than it is,5
