Good curtainsDebraAugust, NSW coast. Hesitated to buy white because in the past I had cotton white light filtering curtains which were 'very' white and created glare when the sun hit them so had to replace (not IKEA). Dytag is a softish white and being linen has that distinctive weave especially noticeable when held up to the light. They filter the light nicely (not too much, not too little) on glass sliding doors facing north verandah (verandah has roof). Good weight and feel good. Washed before hanging - cold water, quick wash, medium spin, line dry. Didn't appear to shrink. Didn't iron as I like the crinkly look. Was in a hurry so just folded over at the top and used syrlig rings with clips - surprisingly still look good. Doesn't matter but most of the crinkle fell away after 2 days and this was despite not ironing and laying them over lounge, etc and literally throwing them around while measuring to fold the top over. Really like the curtains.5
3 of 4 panels had faultsLanaIf the QC on these was upto scratch I would rate these 4 star. They have nice weight. The green is a nice shade. Mine had runs and snags with holes in prominent spots. Not happy as it took a lot of time and effort to research and try two, to end up with faults. Had to go through the most frustrating and inadequate customer service and insane wait times to resolve this. Try open these outdoors as a huge amount of factory dust/fabric dust falls out. Unsure if toxins are in the dust so its more of a reason to avoid opening in doors. Symbol / in the description confirms there is no heading tape, you must buy this seperately if required.2
Very cosy and well madeKatrinaThese look really lovely paired with the ROSENMANDEL Room darkening curtains, yellow-beige5
Great linen curtainsLaurenA item so sought after and such value for money my mom brought a spare suitcase with her from overseas whilst visiting so that she could take 5 sets of these to furnish her beautiful home in South Africa with!5
Great curtainsAnonymous reviewerSubtle colour, light blocking not block out but enough for the lounge room. Keeps the glare off the TV. Very nice hang.5
GorgeousDianeThese curtains are just gorgeous in my living room, compliments aesthetic of room. Had to line for more privacy due to window situation.5
Premium quality curtainsCraigThese stylish curtains are made from linen, which is a natural premium quality fibre. I bought them in the colour "Linen", which is a timeless and neutral hue that will go with any decor. These curtains also offer excellent value for money. They can be partnered with any of the various Ikea hanging systems. These too offer great quality and value. Ikea also provides instructions. For the non-sewers, the curtains can be shortened if needed and hemmed with the Ikea iron-on hemming tape.5
Beautiful translucent hangKatherineThe linen has a lovely drape and translucence at night for internal curtains like room dividers. Heavy enough to provide insulating quality. I have them on a wall cut out but they are also great for doorways. Lovely lightweight fabric & calm colour.5
Stunning curtainsEmmaCan't beat linen curtains for pulling together a room and these are incredible value for the price. 5
Wow wow wow the most beautiful curtains ever!KellyYou can spend thousands elsewhere to get the same look as these showstoppers. Sophisticated, oozing style and add depth and privacy to the space.5
Fabric quality has changedJennyThey are rough, scratchy. I washed them and still the same. I bought Dytag curtains a few years ago and absolutely loved them for their high quality and softness.2

Beautiful curtainsLisaLove these curtains, good variety of colours too.5
What happened to the white onesHaleyI have been waiting to get the white Dytag curtains for a long time. It was hard to tell the colour in the market hall artificial light. The sample looked white but now at home the 6 pairs I bought are a yucky yellowish tone, even the hook tab at the top looks bright white in comparison. So disappointed. Can I bleach these ikea? Not that I should have to. It looks like a rushed mass production issue 1

Curtains that fall just as they should

DYTÅG linen curtains have several important tasks. They filter the light from the outside, give a little privacy and contribute with a warm and snug feeling. And for the linen fabric to get just the right soft fall, we use… air.

Linen textiles have been used for thousands of years and are still appreciated today. Our product developer, Alexander van der Spree, is a dedicated fan. “I love linen. It’s easy to care for, hard-wearing, and durable – and only gets more beautiful and softer the more you use and wash it.

Hot air replaces water

But when a linen fabric is completely new, it can feel a bit stiff, and it takes a couple of washes before it has that soft feel and elegant fall you want in a curtain. “Linen products are often washed already when they are manufactured to become softer, but we discovered a method that showers the curtain with hot air to get the same softening effect as a wash” says Alexander. The method means that your newly bought curtains fall softly and evenly already when you hang them up – and less water and chemicals are used. Later, when you wash your curtains, they only become more beautiful. If you prefer a relaxed and washed feel, you can hang them up straight away without ironing the natural creases.

A comfortable light and a cosy feel

DYTÅG curtains are available in several colours and are easy to match with different styles. Alexander explains how they also give a special light depending on which colour you choose. “The slightly irregular structure of the linen filters the sunrays through the curtains and lets in a comfortable and warm light. It gives your room a natural and cosy feel.”

Curtains that fall just as they should

DYTÅG linen curtains filter the light from the outside and give your room a warm and snug feel. To make the curtains fall softly, already when you hang them up, we’re using a method where the linen fabric goes through a method that showers the linen fabric with hot air. It has the same softening effect as a wash but reduces the consumption of both water and chemicals.

Function solution

The fabric dims the daylight

The fabric dims the daylight entering the room when it is brighter outside, and reduces glare. It gives you a comfortable sense of privacy because people cannot see in during the daytime. At night, when the room is lit, it is possible to perceive shapes and silhouettes from outside.

Material

Linen

Linen, with its distinct irregular texture, is timeless and works well whether you are aiming for a rustic, casual or elegant look – all depending on how you coordinate. The natural fibre feels firm but gets softer after each wash. It breathes too, making it ideal for any season.
