DIRIGERA hub is the heart of a smart home as it enables you to connect and control your smart products in the IKEA Home smart app.
Picture yourself being able to wake up, dim the lights, raise your blinds, and listen to some music - all without having to get out of bed (or having to rewire your home).
You can easily keep an eye on your home even when you're away using the IKEA Home smart app, for example to check if the coffee machine is switched off and to turn lights on or off.
All our smart products work independently. Adding them to the hub opens up new ways to control and customise your home – with extra functions and features when you combine two or more products.

Poorly designed and and doesn't work well with the ikea app or devicesJocelynThe whole matter range for ikea is a real pain to set up and never works well enough. Pairing is a nightmare and some ikea smart devices just refuses to connect. A successful set up takes about 10-15 minutes per device, and if it fails the app suggests you reset the network. But then if you reset the network you have to pair everything from scratch again, which can take hours if you have several smart devices. It also breaks any direct pairing you may have between smart plugs and the remotes. When it breaks this, you cannot use the devices when the network is down or you're trying to troubleshoot another device. Note that this is all on the ikea app plus only ikea smart devices
Easy setupLucySimple to set up and follow the instructions to add new lights and devices. Before purchasing this, I was just using a remote, which didn't give me much control over each light's colour and brightness, so this is a huge improvement. The price is a bit hefty, but it's a one-off purchase.

Must say the transition wasn’t seamless, basically reinstalling the whole system again.
Connectivity to the wifi was unstable. Having to reconnect to the hub multiple times in order to control remotely when using smartphone. I’ve bridged it to my iPhone Home app but many of the Automations don’t work as the hub connection to the wifi is so unstable.
Doesn’t matter whether it’s 2.4g or 5g.
Can’t be a distance issue as the hub and wifi router are <1 ft from each other.
Works as expectedJasonThe initial Dirigera was DOA, so my first attempt at installation was... unsatisfactory. The replacement worked exactly as advertised and restored confidence in the product line. It's been working as expected for a couple of weeks (as have the Tradfri) without incident. I've unnecessarily rebooted it twice during that time. It restarted and continued to work without requiring me to do anything.
Stable and reliable hub replacement for the IKEA Home smart device ecosystemMikeI've had a Dirigera for over 18 months, and it has been a much welcomed upgrade from the original Tradfri hub which was troublesome to say the least. I have over 40 devices now, and confident in expanding my system with the new range of sensors (Badring, etc.) knowing the existing network will "just work" if I add new device.
I'm also trialing the beta Matter bridge support via Apple Home and has so far has been very responsive and flawless in operation.
Some reviewers seem to get stuck in the setup phase. I’d recommend check you have the right app version (sounds obvious, but there are two), and the Dirigera is plugged into your wifi router with the supplied Ethernet cable.
Looking forward to future enhancements such as Thread support and new device offerings. The IKEA Home smart team certainly has come a long way in the last few years to be able to offer very competitive and reliable home automation platform with value that is difficult to find with other vendors.

Pricey but should hopefully pay off..MattFrom a hardware sense it’s a really nice design with a lot of good (future) capabilities. The new app just seems very basic with lack of useful automation such being able to do anything with VINDSTYRKA data which feeds into the DIRIGERA hub. Functionality is just lacking so far..
Although it’s an improvement from the old TRADFRI gateway, I wouldn’t currently recommend this hub at its price point especially as it’s still yet to receive Matter support even though promised by IKEA over a year ago upon release.
