Handyman had trouble putting together.ChristineI paid an experienced professional to build this cabinet and he had trouble putting it together mostly the screws were too small as were the holes and had to redrill to fit them. It cost me more of his time to do this too.
So good I bought anotherEricBuying cabinets for my curios isn't easy, the good ones are expensive and the cheap ones are, well, cheap. While at the lower price range, the Blaliden is better than anything else at this end on the market. I now have two.
Quick note: There are issues. First, easy build, but the shelf supports are a nightmare to install. However once in, will not bother you again (unless you buy another). Second, there's a small gap on the hinge side, between the frame and door. Not a problem for most and easily fixed with a strip of adhesive felt.
AssemblyMaureenI found a YouTube video to put this together which was very useful as was doing it on my own. Hardest part was inserting the screws for the glass shelves, but got there in the end. Without that issue I would have given 5 stars.

Looks good, but.....DeniseDefinitely a 2 person job to construct. Shelf supports fiddly to put on due to position. Managed in the end, haven't added the door magnets as also difficult to screw in place. Is a good cabinet overall despite construction issues.

Adjusting needed, can't get extra shelvesAprilGreat things about this item: It's look. It's size. Minimal dust gets in.you can add lighting. Ajustable feet for uneven floors. Things not so great: took longer to install them I expected. You will have to drill larger holes to fit the door magnets, there was no way around this. Also needed some extra muscle to get most screws in, wasn't able to use the drill as it was stripping the screws heads. Quite worrying as it's glass and can easily break with the right pressure. And lastly, and why I took 1 star off, there are places to possibly mover shelves up or down and add more, but IKEA don't sell extra shelves.
bad to put togetherTylerputting this together is the worst ever experience I've had with IKEA products. inserting the supports for the glass shelves is nearly impossible. then inserting the 3 screws for the door magnets is again nearly impossible, and the screws fail so quickly that if you can't get it in you might be stuffed. I had to use my own even smaller screw to get the last magnet on. before buying consider the cost of the therapy you will need to get after trying to build this thing
If you’re looking for the successor to the Detolf look elsewhereLexieBought this after the detolf was discontinued thinking it was the improved successor - unfortunately it is a step down in most ways.
I like the metal frame as it does feel more sturdy but that’s about it… everything else has been a big let down.
This isn’t only smaller than the detolf but the assembly is more painful, requiring more tools than previously required. It also has more finicky glass shelve holders which was a let down.
I can only recommend this for people who are displaying smaller items, if you have larger items to display then this product isn’t for you at all.
Fair display shelf replacing Detolf, but not good on fitting and extra glass sheetChun YinTo be fair, I like Blaliden to have metal frame outside instead of the metal rods inside of the Detolf, which give a better confidence on holding the weight to put something on top of it. But there are several problems that are quite serious, if not a deal breaker,
1. Extra Glass Sheet cannot be purchased in Ikea, and I still not able to source in anywhere in AUS, which means you wont have the flexibility.
2. Quality is not as the other Ikea product, as the screw holes for the front glass frame to put the handles and the top and bottom stoppers are not in the right size. I even need to use a power tool to drill it bigger to fit the screws.
But, i could see some areas Ikea improved on it like, legs with screws to overcome uneven surface, holes made for lighting cables, etc.
