Scroll wheel remote - Useful or not?HowardAlong with the dual button remote I got one of these to try in Home Assistant. A Thread over Matter device and was quite easy to get into Home Assistant. The device has three modes operated by a press of the bottom below the scroll wheel. The scroll wheel then operates independently for each mode. My rating is low because it didn't do as I expected in Home Assistant not because there is anything wrong with the device as I didn't test it with any other IKEA devices. It really didn't do what I needed it for but at least it can be used just not very successfully as far as I can see.2

A poor effortErikThe surface of the “wheel” is too slippery. Almost impossible to turn it without first making your finger sticky in someway. Seems very flimsy too. Very disappointed. Other IKEA smart home products have been excellent. This one is a fail.1

Need better instructionMatthewThe IKEA instruction for the remote and smart home product is really bad. Don't expect it to work the first time following that (If it does, good for you). Follow the instruction 1-2 times. If it doesn't work, move on to Google/ YouTube/ AI/ IKEA support. Smart home products all seems to have this problem. I thought IKEA will be better at the others but turns out not. Once setup, the product itself is working pretty well for me and the price is good. So don't get put off by the bad reviews. Just expect you will probably need more time to setup than straight up connect and work.3

Bilresa scroll wheel with Home AssistantGraemePurchased to try out the new IKEA Matter devices that have replaced the Zigbee ones I currently use. Was easy to pair and appeared immediately in Home Assistant. There was a good template to allow the functionality to be accessed. Using it to control 3 different lights in my home office. Can turn them on and off and change brightness with scroll wheel.4

Will Not Connect to Ikea Home App or Dirigera HubClaytonI loved the look and price of this remote and bought several for home. No matter what I tried they will not connect to the Dirigera Hub and Ikea Smart Home App. It recognises the switch, but when you go to add them they time out with an error message. I have reset everything several times and tried all of the troubleshooting recommendations to no avail. All previous devices connect to the app and hub in seconds, including non-Ikea products. Also, I cannot connect the new Myggspray motion sensor as it has the same issues. I think you may have an issue here Ikea, as I have read the same issue in other reviews and their connectivity to your own ecosystem. Unfortunately, I will be returning them.1
