Great remotes, poor documentationWayneThese are wonderful once you figure out how to use them. Adding to the IKEA app is easy, but IKEA'S documentation is poor and doesn't even go halfway to explaining how they function and what they're capable of. This is the same problem across their otherwise impressive smart home products.
The instruction manual was very really bad!KwanCouldn’t connect to the light , I thought it was something wrong with the remote ! I exchanged with a new now! Still couldn’t connect! Until I google and learn how to do the connection! This ikea instruction manual was hopeless 😔

Perfect paired with IKEA smart equipmentStuartDon't bother mixing (google, apple etc) the firmware is broken. You'll spend hours trying to make it communicate properly, and it won't work. Firmware is broken.
But if used with IKEA dirigera hub or just the IKEA smart power points. It's the easiest and best smart home setup.. more features available with the dirigera hub (6 buttons per remote, single press, double press and long press) instead of on/off paired with a smart power point.
My whole house was done nearly instantly. As soon as I stopped trying to make Google and matter work.
Don't cross pollinate yet. It doesn't work correctly.

Like all Ikea smart device, very hit and missJarradFirst off, the instructions included don't actually tell you how to pair the device. After scanning the QR code on the box, I found the extra step required but it still wouldn't connect. Thanks to a YouTube video, I found that holding the centre button would reset the remote. I had to do this 5 or 6 times before it finally connected with the led light we purchased this for. Now it's connected but every now and then it doesn't register a button press despite being 1.5m from the LED driver. Very frustrating.
Excellent......... when you get it to work !PaulWe have two cabinets, so two silverglans. Got the remote to pair with one by removing cover on remote, insert batteries, sit remote on top on silverglans, click centre button quickly 4 times. Yellow light flashes. Wait 30 seconds, the lights brighten then dim. Done ! But only worked on one. Couldn't get it to pair to the second one. Back to Ikea, bought another remote for the second silverglans. Same process didn't work. Took cover off silverglans that would not work. Noticed reset button. Pushed with a pencil. 10 seconds later both cabinet lights brightened then dimmed. TA DA. Both silverglans now paired to one remote. Can turn both on & off & adjust brightness. Perhaps Ikea could put this process on their website. The remote is really well priced, only uses AAA batteries and doesn't require the purchase of a hub. I have left the lights set to the lowest brightness and un plugged from the 240 volt. When turning back on they retain the previous setting. Happy days.
Love theseAndrewI've set up two of these at home. No real issues when using an Apple TV as the hub. Button presses can be confirmed as expected on the Apple Home app.

Failure to pair more than 1 Bilresa remoteAdrianHi Ikea, disappointed you sold me the idea I would be able to pair more than 1 Bilresa remote to 1 Tradfri driver (without any other device). Now I have 3 remotes & only one works. After hours of researching online (as there's not enough clear / accurate instructions on purchase), I found a remote cloning method (YouTube +AI info, which also had slight variable ways). Unfortunately failed, after many attempts Eventually found an AI search stating that the new Bilresa remotes cannot be cloned and therefore would need to buy a $129 hub from Ikea. Why couldn't your staff tell me this at the time of purchase? I wouldn't have gone through many wasted hours installing / fault finding... based on your staff instructions. Ikea ... you are better than this, so please provide better & accurate information. Your store has always provided a 1st rate service, but not on this occasion. Adrian
Terrible. Never worked. MerilynThree of us, including an experienced cabinet maker and IKEA installer, tried to make this work. What a waste of time.
Lagged response timeJeremyI was disappointed with these new Matter over Thread switches. I had the previous zigbee ones, which were fantastic - responsive and cheap. These new ones wait for the possibility of a double tap, which results in a delay for regular single taps. The delay is just enough, that you wonder if the home automation is broken or not.
Managed to add custom double-click functionality using the Home Assistant platformShabithI was able to customise this nicely in Home Assistant using a blueprint. I now have four triggers across the two buttons, including custom double-click functionality.
