Perfect to protect the top of KLACKENÄS sideboard!PaulinePurchased for the top of a KLACKENAS sideboard. I'm so glad I got it because the sides and top of the sideboard are particle board covered with black paper foil, which marks very easily. The black glass BESTA panel makes the sideboard look really classy, as well as protecting the surface from scuff marks and wear and tear. The BESTA only comes with a sheet of brown paper and plastic sheet around it, which would not protect the glass from damage in transit, so treat it carefully. Take care when positioning the glass on the top of the sideboard, it can be a bit tricky. Double sided adhesive tape is supplied. Remove one side of the protective paper to attache the tape to the corners of the sideboard, as per illustrations. Do not remove the second (now up-side) of the protective paper yet. Have a trial attempt at placing the glass in position to check exactly how you want it to be. When satisfied with this, then remove the protective paper and carefully place the glass in position. It will be much easier if you have two people to do this, as once it is in place you cannot move it!

Bad Package DesignSharleenI think product packaging should be consider as a part of a product, as well as the packing and delivery service. We ordered this glass panel in store as a part of the BESTA storage system. The quality of this glass panel looks fine and it will be useful to protect the surface. However, because of the terrible original package design that is basically no protection for such a big piece of glass and the unprofessional packing of IKEA warehouse, the edge of this glass panel is broken when it delivered to my home. After 3 times phone calls and about 2 hours waiting on hold, I was still unable to connect with a IKEA customer service representive. Since we cannot put such long glass on our Polo and drive to IKEA to exchange, my husband went to IKEA Adelaide store and asked help in the return and exchange centre. A case file was created and we were promised to received a phone call on the next day. However, 3 days later, we are still waiting. So if you consider buying this glass panel to protect your BESTA surface, learning from my experience. Either ask IKEA to give you extra package protection on delivery, or bring the glass panel home yourself. Otherwise, if you get into the current IKEA customer service system, it could take you forever to get a solution.
