    Wipe clean with a damp cloth.

    Wipe dry with a clean cloth.

    Check regularly that all assembly fastenings are properly tightened and retighten when necessary.

Class ShelfBirolIf this is the glass shelf (photo of item is not clear), it is slightly difficult to install. Don't like the fact that you can't adjust the shelf height easily. So make sure you know what height you need before installing. It doesn't take half an hour but does take considerably longer to install than a regular (white) shelf.5

Glass is fine, the pins are a painmarcopolo79just supply shelf pins with rubber surrounds. pop in and out similar to 99% of kitchens out there.2
Installation nightmare!Not BESTAI bought a few of these glass shelves to fit out in my Besta shelf unit. While the shelf unit itself was easy to assemble and the hinges with the glass doors worked surprising well, installing the glass shelves proved to be the most excruciating experience I have endured assembling an Ikea product. The quality of the shelf brackets most substandard. Nasty plastic grub screws that required backing off to allow the fixing screw to be inserted into the cabinet in one instance from the pack, was deeply cross threaded and would not budge. Had to be drilled out with a Dremel, and what's with those fiddly rubber stoppers located on top of the grub screws that constantly pop out when installing the shelf? Surely Ikea, you can do better than this.1

Material

What is glass?

Glass is mainly made of sand, soda and lime melted at a high temperature. Tempering or various additives gives you extra-strong and impact-resistant glass that in some cases can be taken straight from freezer to oven without cracking. A big benefit is how glass can be recycled over and over without the quality deteriorating. Also, a lot less energy is needed to melt recycled glass compared to new raw materials. Our goal is to eventually use only recycled glass in our range.
