bergshult shelfClaudiaI bought this shelf using click and collect service. Once home and unpacked, I realised it did not come with screws to attach to the wall. I went to the local Bunnings but they did not sell the recommended screws. The metal brackets are a bit bent and the holes for which the screws go through don't fit flush against the wall as they too are warped. The brackets are no precision engineering! Unless you have perfectly plastered new walls when you drill the wall for the screw, if a bit of the plaster flakes off, the bracket won't hide any imperfections. So after finding 6 ( almost matching screws ) from our tool box, and gap filling in the wall chips and painting the (almost matching screws ) white to match the unit the shelf is up and dressed. Despite being the hardest part of the full bedroom reno I'm pleased with how it looks now and the versitility of how you can dress/use it. But I won't be buying another.2

What is particleboard?

Particleboard is made from recycled wood and sawmill leftovers – so wood pieces with the wrong shade, woodchips and sawdust become a resource instead of possibly being discarded. We use boards for things like bookcases, bed frames, sofas and kitchen frames. To protect from wear and moisture, we apply varnish, veneer or foil that adds to the furniture's look.
