Lightweight and functionalJaniceIt's a bit light so I put it against a wall so it wouldn't tilt. One of my knives was too long so I removed the bottom metal plate (which falls out easily anyway) and replaced it with folded kitchen towel to absorb drips. It's currently holding 2 knives and 2 kitchen scissors.4

Looking good but not user friendlySertanThe primary issue is that it is far too light. This lack of weight causes it to be unstable, and I’ve had it tip over multiple times, even with just light handling. A knife block should provide stability and safety, but the Avsteg fails on both counts, especially when holding heavier knives. When you take it from the block, it falls down. While it may look good on the counter, the Avsteg is not a practical or reliable option for everyday use. 1

Super efficiency at a bargain priceMelissaFor years I've had a number of loose knives that needed just the right knife block to hold them all. Not all knife holders are made equal, are clunky or there not enough slots. Finally a handy and stylish holder that's light and ideal for my larger japanese chopping knives.
