Settle into a super comfortable living room
From sofa placement to storage needs, figuring out the best way to organise a new living room can be a little overwhelming sometimes. We worked with a family from our North Lakes store to help them relax and settle into their new home.
Inspiration starts here

Meet Lyndall. She, her husband Peter and their three kids recently moved from Sydney up to sunny Enogerra, Queensland. Amongst everything that needs to be sorted with a big move, their living room has taken a bit of a backseat.
“Right now we’re using a lot of makeshift furniture,” Lyndall says. “It’s really frustrating because it’s this big open bare space with no actual design. I‘d love it to feel more like a room.”
When it comes to organising a living room from scratch, we’re big fans of moving the sofa and relax area into the middle of the room creating walkways around the room. That way your relax space doesn’t become a transit area, plus, you can use your new walkways for well-needed storage and other furnishings.
The other benefit to having the relax area in the centre of the room is that you can make it extra cosy. A super soft high-pile rug comfortably cocooned by sofas and a table for popcorn and you’re all set for movie night with the family.
Using space saved on the side of the room, we created this family-sized home office and homework station using a kitchen bench top, two trestle legs and an ALEX storage unit. Some frames and flowers help this new living room become part of the family too!

“Now there’s a place for everything and more space to be creative.”
