IKEA recalls RISÖ, BUSSAN and JORDBRO beanbags, due to insufficient labelling
Updated: 2021-06-28
Product description: All RISÖ beanbags (Models 80231450 and 60231451) and Jordbro beanbags (Models 80317854, 50317855, 30317858 and 10317857) supplied between 1 July 2016 and 22 September 2016.
All Bussan beanbags (Models 70312913 and 70312908) supplied between 1 July 2016 and 9 April 2017 (week 14 of 2017) with a date stamp no higher than the number 1714 (year/week).
Defect: Product labelling is non-compliant with the mandatory standard Consumer Goods (Bean Bags) Safety Standard 2014.
Hazard: The missing labels warn consumers that children can suffocate if bean bag filling is swallowed or inhaled, not to let children climb inside the bean bag and that a bean bag is not a safe sleeping surface for an infant under 12 months of age.
What to do: Consumers should stop using the affected beanbags and return them to any IKEA store or pick up point with proof of purchase, to obtain a full refund.
