RECALL REMINDER – Recall for Repair on HEMNES Bookcases and Glass-Door cabinets

Sold nationally by IKEA from 1 April 2010 to 1 April 2017

Identifying Features:
Solid timber bookcase and glass-doored cabinets with movable shelves in various sizes and colours. Affected products have product labels with the product name ‘HEMNES’ and date stamps ranging from 2010-04-01 to 2017-04-01. Product labels are located at the top and the bottom of the products.

Defect:
HEMNES bookcase and glass-door cabinet shelves can shrink and move in a dry indoor climate. This can result in shelves falling.

Hazard:
Falling shelves and objects falling from shelves can cause serious injury. The defect has occurred and caused injuries to consumers.

What to do:
Check if you have the affected product. If you have the affected product, or are in doubt, contact IKEA. IKEA will provide shelf support pins for affected consumers and instructions on how to install the pins.
