How does IKEA Buyback & Resell service work?

Start by using the “Buyback Estimator Tool” to check how much in-store credit you'll get for your used IKEA products. Bring your products to your nearest IKEA store within 30 days of receiving your estimate. At the store, the condition of your products will be examined, and a final price will be given. You will receive an IKEA refund card to spend online or in-store.

1. Calculate your product's value
Determine what you want to resell. Find out what products you can sell back to us on the  list of eligible items. For each price offer you receive, you can sell back up to 10 items.
Then, use the Buy-back Estimator Tool to check how much in-store credit you'll get for your used IKEA products. T&Cs apply
2. Receive your estimate
Look out for an email with your estimated quote and a number to reserve your transaction.
3. Bring it back to IKEA
Bring your products (fully assembled) with your estimation number to your nearest IKEA store within 30 days of receiving your estimate. The Buyback & Resell service is available in all IKEA stores except Plan & Order Points.
4. Assessment and final offer
At the Customer Service area of the store, the condition of your products will be examined, and a final price will be given. Items that qualify should be:
  • In good, resaleable condition
  • Listed as eligible
  • Complete and fully functional
  • Properly assembled when returned
  • Clean and unmodified
All estimates are subject to a physical inspection of the products by an IKEA co-worker at the IKEA store of your choice. The final amount agreed may therefore differ from the estimate received if the physical inspection shows any discrepancies. Please note that we do not agree to buy back your products until they have been confirmed as IKEA products and their resale condition has been verified by an IKEA co-worker. The amount offered to you by the IKEA co-worker is not open to negotiation, and we reserve the right to refuse any products at our discretion.
If your second-hand IKEA products cannot be resold, they are not eligible and we will not be able to accept it for a Buyback. You will need to take the product away and dispose of it yourself responsibly. Try to recycle them wherever possible.
5. Get your IKEA refund card
You will receive an IKEA refund card with the agreed amount to spend on something you need or love online or in-store. You can use your refund card for a period of three years from the initial date of issue. Please refer to your card for the expiration date.
6. Give your products a new life
All products in good condition will be resold in the store's Re-shop and Re-use section.
