How do I remove the drawer front from a MAXIMERA drawer?

To remove a MAXIMERA drawer front, you'll need a Phillips head screwdriver and access to the side panels of the drawer. Follow the steps below, or refer to your MAXIMERA assembly document for illustrated guidance.

1. Finding your MAXIMERA assembly document

For best results, follow the steps below alongside the MAXIMERA assembly instructions. Here's how to find them:
  1. Go to IKEA.com.au and search for "MAXIMERA".
  2. Select the MAXIMERA low, medium or high drawer. Whichever matches yours.
  3. On the product page, click Product Details > Assembly and Documents.
  4. Save the document and refer to the disassembly section towards the end.

2. Removing the drawer from the cabinet

If it is installed in the METOD cabinet, you will need to remove it first.
  1. Pull the drawer all the way out.
  2. Tilt the front upwards.
  3. Slide the drawer out completely.
  4. Place it on a flat surface.

3. Removing the support rails (for medium and high drawers only)

Medium and high drawers have additional support rails for mounting accessories. Remove these before proceeding.
  1. Using a flat head screwdriver, push the clip at the rear of the drawer on both sides.
  2. Lift the support rails out and leave them unclipped.
  3. If you are replacing your drawer front with a new one, remove these rails from the front of the drawer as well.

4. Removing the drawer front

  1. Remove the plastic covers on the outside of both side panels. There is one on each side.
  2. Using a Phillips head screwdriver, turn the large screw anticlockwise, away from the drawer front. Repeat on both sides.
  3. Once released, remove the drawer front.

5. Re-installing your MAXIMERA drawer front

For illustrated guidance, follow the MAXIMERA assembly document. You can also:
  1. Re-insert the front panel and push firmly until you hear a click.
  2. For medium or high drawers, re-install the support rails as shown in the assembly document.
  3. Re-install the drawer into your METOD cabinet.
