The inner cushion may have a slight natural smell from the down and feathers. It’s harmless and fades over time. Airing or washing it and drying it thoroughly in a dryer helps the smell fade faster.

Stink !MaureenSitting on the couch beside my 2 year old grandson who had his head on the cushion who exclaimed 'yuk, stink'. After many days of airing in the Brisbane sunshine & I thought it was safe to bring the cushion insert inside I was sitting on another chair in the loungeroom & smelt a waft of bad odour...the feather cushion insert. Smell was gone after I threw out the inserts. Waste of money. 1

Surprisingly goodLaraAlmost every cushion insert I've ever tried has been a disastrous failure. You know the ones - they need more attention lavished on them than a 3-year-old kindergarten. The biggest issue with these inserts is getting them inside the cover before they fully expand from the packaging. They fit the appropriately-sized cushion covers perfectly (as you'd expect, but sometimes don't get, elsewhere.) I've used some of mine as emergency pillows for visitors, and almost to a body, they've asked me where I got the cushions because they were more comfortable to sleep on than their regular pillow/s. They do settle if you lean/sit or sleep on them for long, but it takes all of four seconds to pick them up, shake them up and plump them out again. They look like new again in under 5 seconds. 5

Must have inner cushion!!!
I have been on the hunt for a feather inner cushion insert. And of course IKEA has them!!! And I absolutely love it, I got the 20x20 size and also had to get the 26x26 size. I love how it molds to your comfort. I just love them so much, a must have.
