Wire cutting experience tipRobinAs others have noted, cutting the wire to length with wire cutters or any kind of pliers leads to the end becoming frayed and difficult, if not impossible to get the wire into the hole in the fitting even without the plastic sleeve. We found that the best way was to position the plastic sleeves and cut through the wire using a Dremel with a cutoff disc. Good excuse to buy a Dremel if you don't already have one! If you lose or damage a plastic sleeve from the package you can instead use a suitable size of electrical heat shrink tube shrank into position.3
Not good for my application Anonymous reviewerI went with this product over a traditional rod because I was at ikea on a bike and this was easier to carry home. So I like it for portability. Setup was okay, did it myself with a ladder, drill, and stud finder. Unfortunately once it was up, it didn’t hold very well. It sagged and gave a lot of friction, and kinda just didn’t look very nice in my opinion. The turnbuckle didn’t take up enough slack.
I was using these with blackout curtains, with clips, and across two windows with a support in the middle. So probably a somewhat demanding application. With sheer drapes, not covering a whole wall, it’s likely it would look more balanced and hang just fine.

Great for thinking out of the boxSherriThese are great to allow you to hang curtains in unusual places. I sectioned off a room with them, but you could even use them to put sheers around a bed. You can shape it any way you want. Just be sure to use the support anchors every 4 feet. Installation was fairly easy, but I had to supply my own screws. I would say it's a 2-person job, but I managed on my own.5
