Good to know

All new materials have their own particular smell, which gradually disappears. Airing and vacuuming the rug will help to eliminate the smell.

You will need 1 STOPP FILT rug underlay with anti-slip (165x235 cm) for this rug. Trim if necessary.

The rug is machine-woven.

To get the edge of your rug to lie flat without curling up, fold the edge in the opposite direction and place a heavy object on top for 2 days.

Dry spots; remove immediately by scraping carefully towards the middle of the spot.

Wet spots; do not rub. Absorb with paper towels, damp with cloth and mild detergent.

Professional carpet cleaning when needed.

Strong Weave.SueThis is a great rug for a fairly high traffic area. We have our in our family room. It is a little hard on the knees as is quite knotty, but it is very hardy and I would expect it will last quite well. Excellent quality for the price. Does not move about on the floor, we have LVP flooring. Great neutral, natural colour. Well made.5
Durable, looks good and value for money.SuePleased with this purchase and can't fault the quality. The tag warns of a potential for the jute to have a strong smell upon unwrapping, but this hasn't been noted. If placing under a dining room table would recommend slide protectors under your chair legs as the texture of the rug may catch when pushing the chairs out. The larger sizes are a little difficult for one person to roll out - would be easier if the top of the rug was on the inside so you could just roll it out straight from the wrapping instead of having to flip it. Have not found the edges to curl as mentioned in some reviews. I would certainly recommend if you're in the market for a textured jute rug. It does look good!5

What is jute?

Jute is a very hardwearing fibre that is found in the stem of the jute plant. It’s an easy-to-grow plant that requires very little fertiliser, pesticides or water and is ready to harvest after only 120 days. The jute fibre is often used for ropes and sacks but is also known for its silky-smooth lustre and can be spun into finer threads which are then woven. In our range we often use woven jute for items like curtains, rugs and furniture.
