Nice stove, but have an issue with a burnerDaleI really like my new stove, but one of the burners does not work correctly. The left front burner is defective only one side works. I had 2 eggs in my skillet and the egg in the back started cooking really fast and the one on the front portion did nothing. I finally had to rearrange eggs to get both cooked.3
Very pleased with this stove.MarshaStove is great. Keeps temperature properly, heats up cookware quickly. Very happy with the product. 5
Never Lives Up to ExpectationsJoanneI was thrilled when I learned IKEA was selling a value prices induction cooktop and convection range and purchased mine in 2020. But it has proved to be unrecommendable. The oven frequently just starts losing it's temperature, making baking at a consistent temperature impossible with out constant vigilance. Then if one raises the temperature, the top heating elements turns on to heat up the oven and broils whatever is exposed. Yes, I had the repair man out many times and he insisted that everything was fine. Now and then the cooktop will just randomly turns on and starts throwing error codes and I have to disconnect it to reboot. Or while I am cleaning it, I will get an error message despite all the burners being turned off.1
Buyers BewareKatPurchased my Tvarsaker on July 2021. Wanted an induction range. It works by using electromagnets. The magnets did not line up with markers on the top, therefore my pans would tend to boil on one side. I got used to this. Oven worked great. Then after about 3 1/2 years my range started beeping for no reason, waking us up in the middle of the night. Oven would turn itself off & on, reset the temperture that I was baking at. So I didn't know how long or if the food was done or not. It threw an F011 code err so that I had to turn the breaker off to it. It did the same as my Frigidaire range did because it was made by the same company. Frigidaire had to buy back that one before the year was up...replaced computer 3 times. Ikea gave me a 5 year warranty. Contacted them in January 2025. Twice in Febuary and still haven't heard anything back from them. It's still under warranty until July 2026. Hope they contact me before warranty runs out.1
I LOVE IT!Anonymous reviewerI got this in June 2023 and have had no issues. The induction range is great and so is the oven. I love the fact that I can quickly boil a huge pot of water- it is just so fast. I love how responsive the range is to the setting I choose- if I switch from Power mode or high to low, it instantly changes until the old electric ranges. I love the sleek cooking surface that is so easy to clean. As a parent, I really appreciate that the temperature settings are all on the back side and out of reach of my little kids. I love that there's no more gas in my kitchen- no worries about a leak, and no constant pilot light that is burning gas off into our air. And, an included 5 year warranty is excellent! Thanks Ikea!5
Great oven and excellent induction cooktop, you need to know a tip to get good oven control. Important tip in the review!JustinAfter using this every day for over two years, it does what it's supposed to do perfectly. I love it. Induction is such an upgrade. But you need to learn how to get the oven to do what you want. Another reviewer was frustrated that the oven temperature fluctuates too much. This appears to be a significant software bug that freezes any updating from the thermometer for like 10-15 minutes after it reaches a set point. If you open the oven door in that time window, you can lose 50+ degrees and it will not automatically correct because it doesn't know the temperature has dropped. BUT THERE IS A SOLUTION! Override the delay by simply re-entering the target temperature every time you open the oven door (type the digits and press Start, no need to press Bake first). This restores the temperature sensor. This is annoying, but I got used to it, and now I get perfect baking results! I'm sure this bug can be fixed easily, and may be currently fixed in new ones. Five stars if they fix the bug.4
Not Working ProperlyBarbaraWe bought this range in the summer of 2022, but didn’t start using it until Dec. of that year, when our kitchen renovation was completed. It worked fine until about three weeks ago. Now when I’m using the oven, every time I open the door to check what I’m cooking, when I close it again, the oven turns off and I get an “error” message. Also the light no longer goes on when the door is open, as it’s supposed to. I hope Ikea will honor the warranty and fix this.i wish I could give it 2.5 stars, because the induction stovetop works fine.2
It Showed Promise but didn't DeliverJoanneThe price was fabulous. I wanted an induction cooktop and the one on this unit works very well. I knew there was an issue with the fact that the knobs are located in the back, but I was willing to live with that at this price point. Unfortunately the oven is subpar. When it was under warranty I had the service person out here several times who kept insisting that it was working properly. It's not. The temperature in the oven fluctuates as much as 50°. Often making it difficult to utilize the baking function properly and resulting in a lot of quick thinking to enable whatever I'm cooking to come out properly.
I am way out of warranty, and don't understand if I have any options, besides just replacing it after 3 years, as this unit just does not work properly.2
Super good rangeSusanI really love my new stove. It takes less than 4 minutes for a large pot of water to boil. The convection oven cooks quickly and evenly. The ONLY down side is that you must position the pot or pan on the induction burner “just so”, for it to turn on. It just takes a little patience.4
This does not come with a cord kit. JuliePrepare ahead if you purchase this online because there is NOTHING that says you will need to purchase a cord kit to be able to use this once it is delivered. NOTHING. SUPER HELPFUL! 😡 And customer service was useless. I didn’t know if it was left out or needed to be purchased separately. I’m so irritated with IKEA right now. 1
Great Performance with Some SurprisesSeanThe induction cooktop boils a quart of water in about 90 seconds -- much, much faster than the gas cooktop it replaced. The oven and cooktop have both performed really well in the first week of use.
The product description states, "stainless steel" and the product images only show the front profile. I was surprised that the sides are black rather than stainless. One side of my range abuts a cabinet while the other side is exposed, so a better description of this range would have been appreciated.
The storage drawer was formed with the protective film still adhered to the sheet metal and was difficult to remove. Some of the edges were sharp and I cut myself while removing the protective film from the drawer. I carefully filed the edges and now they’re fine, but those sharp edges absolutely should have been softened during manufacturing.
Overall this range is a good value, but with a few disappointments discovered during installation.4
Just what I've always wanted.MarciaAfter shopping around for a stove with induction cooktop and convection oven, I found the Tvarsaker. It has everything I wanted plus easy to use touch controls. Looks great, easy to clean. I'm totally spoiled now.5
Great electric rangeSolonOur old stove had recently died suddenly and we decided to try this Ikea one as a replacement. Very happy we did. Price was right. Warranty is much longer than many popular name brands. Induction cooktop is amazing! We did have to replace our (also old) pans as they failed the magnet test, but the new set we got works great. Very pleased overall.5
JUST PERFECT!!!BeaI love my induction range more than anything!! He cooks and bakes everything very quickly and perfectly and at a very good price!!
The delivery was also quick and good!
I would buy the Tvärsäker again and again!!5
Induction stoveElaineThe storage drawer is very difficult to open, I have stopped using it. The heating elements are fine, oven is fine.3
DisappointingAnonymous reviewerI was excited to get an induction range because a chef friend of mine said they were as good as gas! I found the oven to be perfectly adequate but the cooktop was really lame. First of all if you measure the outline of the large "burner" is measures around 11.5" when in reality the cooking element is closer to 6". If you're cooking eggs the middle cooks quickly and the edges will be raw. Second, the cooking element seems to be C shaped so you have to keep rotating the pan to keep the cold spot in check. The medium burners have such small cooking elements they're not good for much and the small one is completely useless. Although they boil water VERY quickly the intense heat comes at a price. The middle of the pan gets unbelievably hot and the edges stay relatively cool so they can warp even expensive cookware and now I have 2 cast iron pans that have high spots so they spin on the cooktop surface. I'll give the range 2 stars because I like the oven and the timer.2
Great stove! But not working with light weighted pan.JuliaI enjoy cooking on this induction stove and bake very quickly in the oven. But I find out that my favourite crepes pan doesn't heat up and the control panel just turns off when I put this light weight pan on the stove. So I used a different, heavier pan and it works fine start to heat the pan, but when you make crepes you have to take pan off from the stove to put in the crepes mix. And the stove will automatically turns off. Very dissapointed about this. Info about lightweight pan - Cuisinart 623-24 Chef's Classic Nonstick Hard-Anodized 10-Inch Crepe Pan. Please advise what should I do about that. Thanks5
Great RangeAnonymous reviewerIve really been pleased with this range. Its so much nicer than the one I was using the being able to heat the cookware so evenly is great.5
Go InductionAndrewI love my switch to induction from gas. Getting a pan (especially cast iron) up to temp is very fast. Temp control is precise.
Oven is great. Nice racks.
The drawer is a bit tight, oh well.
My one complaint on this particular range is the lip around the cook top is too shallow to contain the slightest boil overs from spilling, dripping over the front to the floor. Even the steam from a roast in the oven can accumulate and spill. Nevertheless, induction is the way to go. Saves energy and cooks as well as gas. Speed to boil is incredible.4
