Can’t go wrong with this item…KameronGreat to go under your area rug, or I have even used it under a mattress on bed slats. It will keep them from moving around or slipping on you. Can’t beat it for the price, use or quality.
Works greatLeeThis does what it's supposed to do; it stops rugs from slipping, which is critical with an elderly person in our household. This is easy to use and cut down to size and it holds like an anchor. If there are any doubts about the size, do what the one reviewer suggests and buy a little more, trim some down and have some extra on hand if needed.
Challenging to handle - stretches over timeNorlieThis anti-slip rug underlay is a great idea, but challenging to apply with one person since it sticks to itself.
It seems like a very thin piece of felt with a waxy adhesive applied. Once in place, it seems to keep the rug from slipping. However we noticed over time that it slowly stretches and bunches up under the carpet, probably because it is so thin.
new ones don’t workEmilyI have been using these for years and my rugs do not budge on my hardwood floors. Just purchased more of these to go under some new rugs and they do not work at all anymore. The material doesn’t even stick to itself and I remember what a hard time I had with the old ones getting it to separate from itself.
Does its jobYuanhangIt has kind of a sticky texture to it, as though it's coated in some sort of adhesive. It doesn't leave any residue behind though and does a good job of keeping my rug in place. My only request is that it come in more sizes to accommodate all sorts of IKEA rugs - the next size up would need a significant amount trimmed to be usable for a 7'x9' rug, contributing to excess/waste. This feels like a one-time use product, meaning I would probably toss it and buy a new one if I moved apartments.

This is NOT Anti-SlipKathleaI've purchased this product before, and it works well - much like some others describe - it is thin and difficult to get out the creases, but it is sticky enough to hold a rug in place. I just purchased this again in August 2025, and it is not sticky AT ALL. I mean, it slides just as much as the thin rug I'm trying to keep in place. I'll be returning this, but for all those thinking about this product - I'd skip this batch. It does not work and someone could get hurt. IKEA quality waxes and wanes - the production of this anti-slip rug seems to be going through a rough patch.
Doesn't actually fit rug as recommended, not great at keeping anything in placeRyanPurchased this as a recommended item alongside a rug, but the rug pad is too small, by about one foot, horizontally. As another review mentioned, it's also hard to keep completely flat because of how thin it is, so trying to get the rug down on top without causing the rug "pad" to bunch up was an involved process. I would not recommend purchasing this.
No Slipping With this Rug UnderlayKathleenI have purchased this rug underlay multiple times for various rooms and continue to find it a good value. It is thin, which I need, so that it doesn't add bulk which would impede doors from opening. It works well to keep area rugs in place. I highly recommend this product.
Works great!HeatherI have braided rugs in my old farmhouse. This works much better than the waffle weave grippy mat that's supposed to keep rugs from slipping. I bought the largest size and cut it to size for each of my rugs.

Minimally usefulIreneThe mat has lots of creases in it and almost no weight. So it is not really possible to get it to lie flat on the floor. My rug is also very thin. There is just enough stick to the mat that it's impossible to adjust the lying of the rug over the mat. It's got hills and valleys that I can't get out because they are sticking together.
It might work better under a heavier rug, but a heavier rug would also need more padding to prevent its wearing out.
I would not buy this again.
