Comfortable AND affordableMEREDITH S.This chair is the best! Think it is more comfortable that the more expensive option at IKEA. Only wish IKEA offered more color choices. Good thing Amazon offers replacement pads. Just make sure to get the Pello pad.5
Great comfortable chairMaria M.Great chair at a reasonable price with cotton materials. Loving it.5
great chair!Cissygreat chair!5
Never buy it!Filiz K.I bought it based on its appearance. However, there is only a piece of fabric holding you in the seating area. Therefore, it is not comfortable at all. Despite that, I had to use it. But of course, because the fabric cannot withstand this kind of usage for a long time, it tore after one month. I believe the product's visuals are misleading, and I definitely do not recommend it.1
Awesome chair!!!JOHNThis chair is awesome! It’s not a rocking chair per se but you can rock a little while sitting in it which is great for those who get antsy sitting. A little hard to get up out of but I’m older so that could be why but other than that it’s awesome.5
Pelli for office settingGregI love this chair. Such a comfortable chair for such a fantastic price.5
ChairsusanaThe price is not high and feels really comfortable5
Great for the priceJILANAI only withheld my 5th star because I wish it was available in other colors. This chair is really comfortable, though low to the ground so I see how an ottoman would come in handy (we’re all 5’10”-6’4” over here). I’ve had mine about a month and love it. It was a bit confusing to assemble. I had to find a YouTube video to get the wood and fabric set in the correct direction. I currently have a throw blanket over it to protect the light fabric and may opt for a fabric dye to give it color with more longevity. I found alternative colors for sale online as well. Worth the buy either way.4
Such a comfortable chair.SandiPurchased this chair for my sons room. It is remarkably comfortable. Easy to assemble too.5

Don’t put the headrest bar on backwardsDan W.I needed a temporary lounge chair while I look for something permanent and this fit the bill. The instructions were not very clear especially the part that shows you how to assemble the steel tubes. I put the U-shaped piece at the top of the chair on backwards and for several days I thought this was a very uncomfortable chair because I couldn’t lean my head back. Much better after taking it all apart and flipping it the other way. I also installed the first wood arm with the peg holes facing out, that wasn’t clear in the instructions. Partly my fault since that’s obvious those need to face inwards. Anyway, it’s a decent chair for the money. It’s kind of sad to know the wood will most likely outlast the synthetic bag that acts as a support for the cushion. The bag and cushion will end up in the trash and the legs/arms will be firewood. It would be cool if ikea made the replacement parts available.3
Great Chair for ReadingLeeI've been buying this style of chair from Ikea for thirty years. It's a great reading chair. Sit back with book in hand and settle your elbows on the ideally placed arm rests, and off you go into wherever your book takes you!5

New Pello chairsDeborahMy new Pello chairs are great; I love them and so do my cats. Is their enthusiasm for them changes, perhaps I’ll get to sit in one of them.4
Difficult to assemble, hard to get out ofDavidI will start by saying that this chair was affordable and we needed a new chair. We liked the look of this one, and we git it. Unfortunately, the instructions were of little help when assembling this, consisting of unclear pictures with no text on flimsy paper that threatened to dissolve from the sweat streaming off me while I was assembling the chair. The single provided tool was so small and smooth it kept slipping out of my fingers and getting lost. Finally, I went to put the final pieces in place, only to find that unclear instructions left me with pieces on the wrong sides, forcing me to undo what I had just done. Three hours after starting to build the thing, the chair was finally ready, and the person who sat in it needed help getting out. The chair leans back so much it leaves us looking at the ceiling more easily than the TV. Getting out of the chair is a chore, one which is made more difficult by the flimsy cushion which barely attaches to the front, and is tearing from the strain of us sliding back/down into it when we sit. The chair looks nice and is incredibly comfortable, but getting out of a chair should not be a form of exercise suitable for a gym.2
Is it possible to get a replacement slipcover?Tamara M.I like this chair! But someone sat in it and the weight-bearing slipcover (i.e. not the cushion on top) tore and now it's not comfortable to sit in. Do you sell the slipcovers separately? Or where can I get one?4
Great chair. Very comfortableSteveGreat chair. Very comfortable5
Pello chairJanice H.I bought this chair 15 years ago. It is so comfortable and durable. I was so happy to see that it is still available! I wanted to wash the cover again, but when I took it off, I discovered the foam had disintegrated, so I will be up to replace it.5

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA, we believe that sourced in responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.

Material

What is veneer?

A veneer is a thin wooden sheet attached to things like particleboard to add a durable surface and a natural wood look – so we enjoy the many benefits of wood without using solid wood. The most common veneer types are birch, ash, oak, and beech, and we’ve made a special UV lacquer that helps preserve the wood's natural structure. A benefit with a slightly thicker veneer is how you can repair and sand the surface if it’s damaged to give furniture a longer and more beautiful life.
