    Sometimes the mattress has a noticeable smell when you open the packaging. The smell isn’t harmful or toxic and disappears over time. Airing and vacuuming the mattress helps to eliminate the smell faster.

    All of our mattresses can be used immediately, but keep in mind that a packaged mattress only regains its full shape and comfort after approximately 72 hours. Your body also needs a couple of weeks to adapt to the new mattress.

UnderwhelmingMichaelNot a TERRIBLE mattress but far less comfortable than I was hoping for. Thickness is closer to 3.5" Guests have complained about it so there you go. I am currently looking for a replacement. One positive is it is larger (80" x 60") than most mattresses out there. Simply disappointing overall.3
Way too firm, back painJessica C.I suffer from chronic back pain due to an inherited condition. Something that has always helped is having a good mattress that is well firm. This bed is horrible 😓 I am in so much pain, I thought I was having a medical emergency. I urge you to find something else that is medium firm or softer. This bed is cheap but not worth the coat of your health. I have a back up floor mattress from Japan that will work after I return this one, but super dissappointed. Quality is poor. 😥1

Cover is is problematic and can't be replacedJustinPurchased two of these for my sons' room a month ago. The quality of the mattress from a typical perspective is what I anticipated and was certainly satisfactory. But we needed to clean the covers, and that's when things went down hill. Not only is it difficult to get the covers back on in general, but the quality of the zippers is not good. I managed to get one back on, but the zipper broke on the other. After multiple attempts to chat with IKEA support, I finally got far enough in the process for someone to tell me that wasn't covered for some reason. Which I guess makes me out of luck? And it doesn't even appear to be possible to purchase a new cover separately. So I've got an expensive exposed foam pad right now with no cover that fits it. Frustrating.2
Thickness waries across the sizesAlirezaPurchsed a full and twin. Full is about half an inch slimmer than twin as I measured, and feels much less firm under same body weight. Full also fails to compltely fill the cover as the corners are visibly void.2
I bought this mattress based on the Negative Reviews!FredaThat's right -- I always read the negative reviews to see what types of issues other people have. And a big issue I saw was that the mattress was too hard. That's when I knew it was the right one for me, because I was looking for a firm mattress! My back had been hurting for quite a while, and getting a firmer mattress resolved the problem. I've had this mattress for about 3 years now and it's still going strong.5
