20 years JulieI bought one of these around 2005. Retired it to storage 5-6 years ago. Relocated and brought it back out for “temporary use “ in a rental while doing renovations on an old home we bought . That has been 2 years now… The bed is still solid and looks good. The simple wood slat frame that I bought with it is perfect for latex mattress. It’s a deal. I just bought a new platform bed for the new old house that is very expensive but doesn’t have the correct spacing. Requiring additional $300 for a good bunkie board. Bought the nightstands too at the time. These have held up well and still in storage at the other home for a possible future need.5
Frame snapped after 6 yearsLeighThis has been our bed frame for our queen mattress since mid-2019. I’ve never been a huge fan of the frame — it squeaks and is noisy. However, I went to sit on the edge and the entire frame snapped. Neither me or my husband are large people, so it should have no issue supporting the weight. I’m very concerned too because my dog sleeps under the bed; luckily he was not under it when the frame broke. It is not a secure frame and I do not recommend purchasing. If I could go back in time, I’d buy a different frame.2
Bed slats come separately. Very unstableSyedThe bed itself is fine but the bed slats are not stable. The bed has caved in multiple times1
Central beam broke!TanyaWhile sleeping the central beam broke. If this is a known issue why not recall? It is dangerous.1
Get the Lonset slatted baseEricAll of the reviews about the bed squeaking are because people are choosing the cheaper slatted base. Get the more expensive one, put the frame together tight, retighten after a couple weeks, and you're good. This is a $300 frame, not $1200. So don't expect it to feel like a $1200 frame. I have had this frame in an airbnb for 4 years and it's been incredibly solid. About to buy another one.5
Don’t buy JamesThe middle part bent 1
Loudest Bedframe ValeriaNo that hard to assemble but since we put it together we can’t really use the bed because of all the noise it makes it’s definitely extremely loud wouldn’t recommend it at all 1
The bed is not strong as expected and missing the nuts and bolts and screws JanakI don’t see option for return and none is available to talk as well 1
Squeakiest bedKellyThis bed was great for a couple months. Later found out it’s the squeakiest bed. I don’t even move, could totally be laying still and it squeaks. Looked up online to see if this was common and it is. Try to fix it and couldn’t. Would not recommend and would not buy again.1
bummedAndreaI put the bed together and realized it didn't come with slats. I've never purchased a bed that didn't come with them. Very disappointed.2
Not bad but not good eitherYanaAfter a year of having this bed frame it broke. I used to have this one in a blue color, it looked perfect, but in reality it wasn't that good. its just me and my partner sharing this bed and half year thru we started noticing one side of the bed basically sinking under us. today it broke down fully3
Beautiful nightmare.MatthewIt's a beautiful bedframe and my wife and I love it. Nightmare to assemble, though. Still recommend it with the LONSET bed base.4
Nice oak veneer color but sides should be flushSaraColor is nice and overall look is clean lines however it would be better if the sides were flush with the mattress, currently the sides are like a wrap outside the mattress so if you hit the sides your shins will suffer. Other than that no noise issues but I did not use the slats, I used a bed base that fit into the frame (so the frame is just to look nice basically). 3
This bed does not assemble properlyJohn M AndrewsThe small round gears that are supposed to attach the head board and side rails together does not assemble it properly. Any suggestions. As it stands now, the bed is useless.1
RecommendYuliaI like the quality and design and affordability5
Almost 20 yearsBrianI bought this bed 19 years ago, when I first moved out at 19. I am a big guy 6'4 and around 245lbs. This bed has been assembled and disassembled countless times. Seen three apartments, sat in storage for a year and finally ended up in the spare bedroom of my first home. Thought the year it has been abused and its still perfect. Actually hard to believe I've had it this long. I just picked up a new bed at ikea and thought of how well the Malm had been to me. Thats why I decided to write this review now. Its served me well and still doesnt make noise and looks good. Im actually giving the bed frame to my nephew. Highly recommend this bed.5
Its okayJaclynAssembly was tiring for one person. It makes quite a bit of noise. Every shift and movement makes noise. Not great but not horrible. Looks nice.3
Cute but so loudKaitlynit was put together correctly, I bought the $50 slats, and it is the loudest, creakiest bed ever. it looks nice and clean but I do not think im going to keep it.2
SadCesarI just bought one and realized that the central metal piece is missing.😱😳😩1
TerribleGildaTerrible material! Didn’t even last 1 month.1
