Despite being firmly grounded in the science of play, the design process was as playful as the products themselves. Each designer was asked to start in the everyday activity where they get lost in the moment and simply have fun – and to create items that make people smile. “To me, playfulness is a way of looking at life that boosts creativity and makes me believe that everything is possible. I won’t ever allow my inner child to grow up”, says Marta Krupinska, one of the designers behind the collection.

DO NOT BUY, poor designPingI would not recommend this balance board. The rounded ends make it easy for kids to stub their toes when moving or repositioning the board, and the design really limits how it can be used. Unlike other balance boards with flatter or straighter edges, it can essentially only be used one way, so it’s not nearly as open-ended as I expected. Overall, I found the design poorly thought out and not safe enough for young children

Perfectly simpleAlisonI got this for my 6 year old and he loves it. It's visually simple, so it doesn't create too much visual noise. It's a great indoor physical outlet when the winter winds are blowing.
Well made and funJesscaOrdered two of these for my kids, ages 10 & 12. These boards are sturdy, well made, dry smooth with no rough edges. Both kids love them and use them in multiple ways.
Took off a star because I think there should be a larger (longer) size offered, too.
Bad designLisaHaving the short ends curved instead of straight edges means this can only be used as a balance board, whereas balance boards by other brands have straight edge on the short sides so you can turn the board over to used as a bridge or some other stable surface do pretend play. This becomes unstable when turned over. The kinderfeets board is only $10 more and has more modes of play and a higher weight limit of 300lbs make it useful for adults at standing desks. The ikea one has a maximum 220lb limit.
