GREAT shelving!LoxieI purchased this shelving unit for an unusual size space which was just less that 36" wide. The width and depth are perfect. Pieces were easily assembled after studying the instructions a bit and watching a few minutes of a YouTube video. I put it together myself (female, age 64) and had no problems. I used a rubber mallet not a hammer. I was pleasantly surprised at how sturdy it is - I will be using it to store my china, glassware, etc. The shelving (black) has a nice surface - a little texture, but smooth (if that makes sense) which makes it easy to slide things around. No lip on the edge of the shelves which is great. The only thing that was a little daunting is a couple of the shelves had small dents - no problem as they'll be covered with storage containers. I would definitely purchase again if I needed another unit. 5

Weird to Put Together, But Sturdy Once Together!MarcusSo after I ordered, i read the reviews... I was super worried. Thankfully, Ikea includes a handy tool to use with a hammer to put the shelves together successfully. I was able to put two shelving units together by myself with 5 shelves each in about 90 minutes. I connected them together and to a Bror workbench. It turned out great, very sturdy. The units are sharp looking and the shelves seem sturdy enough to organize stuff in my garage.4
Apartment Thumbs UpMichaelaBror fits nicely in our small apartment storage unit. The size is perfect. We screwed it into the wall, so the BROR doesn't wobble or feel unsafe. I am using it to store bulk Costco food and large appliances like my Kitchen Aid mixer.5
Shredded quickly, do not buy!TaylorBought this shelf with high hopes because it looked really nice. It was almost impossible to build, requires at least 2 people. A ton of hammering is required to force the metal posts and supports into place, took FOREVER and then it didn't hold together - the metal posts SHREDDED making it completely unusable. Forced to return it because it could not possibly hold up any shelves. The metal is way too flimsy/soft to withstand even building it, let alone holding up any shelves. Needs a strong metal or a new design.1
Great concept, poor materials and workmanshipDeborahWhen putting this item together, the corner joins (holes and nubs/pegs) get shredded. The material is not a sturdy metal, it is very flexible and bendy. Even the instructions say that it is not meant to hold much weight. I think this shelf unit could use a redesign and a stronger metal.1
