Inconsistent LengthsNatashaIn the first two-panel pack I opened, one panel was an entire inch longer than the other. The rest of the panels from the other two-packs I bought were all within that one-inch range. This isn't a huge issue for me because I was already planning on hemming them to a custom length, but this would have been really frustrating if I'd wanted to hang them as-is. Aside from that, they're decent quality. 3
HEAVYPaulaWarning: At 7 lbs, 9 oz, these are 3 lbs, 2 oz heavier than another style of room darkening curtain, the Majgull. I doubt any spring rod can hold the Annakajsa, and I am seriously concerned that my wall mounted steel rods are not going to hold up over time. Not sure what my solution will be, yet. In the one location, I can only use a spring rod.2

Not quite blockout, but very close to being one! They make the room very dark. We love the thickness and feel of those curtains. Great color! Haven't noticed any shrinkage after the wash and preventive stretching while still damp.

Room darkening fabric

The room darkening fabric lets in a small amount of daylight, when it is brighter outside and darkens the room. It prevents glare on TV’s and digital screens. It gives you a strong sense of privacy as people cannot see in day or night. Silhouettes and light indoors are barely perceived.

Material

What is polyester?

Polyester is a durable, quick-drying and insulating material that is optimal to use for textiles and as filling in pillows, quilts and furniture. The material is made from crude oil – a limited resource. Since IKEA doesn’t want to contribute to more virgin oil being used, we are now gradually switching to recycled and traceable polyester from sources like PET bottles. What’s nice is that polyester can be recycled over and over, without changing or losing its great qualities.
