Good value for an induction hobAnonymous reviewerThis is a really good value induction hob. Two issues to consider. 1. When using larger pans they can sometimes be over size which leads to uneven heating. Nothing a bit of stirring can’t resolve. 2. The controls are touch sensitive so can be sometimes be poor response. Especially if direct sun light is on the surface. Otherwise a good purchase for its price 4
Great for the price.Anonymous reviewerPerforms really well. So fast and powerful. Very responsive. We bought this while on offer. I read the reviews and was a little worried. So far have not experienced any of the negatives that were mentioned. Works well with wet fingers! 5
Disappointed and not as good as my last IKEA HobAnonymous reviewerMy last hob was from Ikea. I loved it. When it died, I got a new one from IKEA. This one is not so good. Problems 1. It is 1 cm smaller than the last one. Not too much of a problem except for the gas hob that it sits next to is 60 cm so they don't line up. 2. The individual hot areas are not large enough for a big (30cm) pan, so it overhangs the controls and the whole pan doesn't heat up. 3. It takes longer to heat up than the last hob. 4. Each space has a boost button, but they automatically turn off and lower their setting to 9 after a set amount of time (not long enough to get a big pan to the boil). 5. The controls are so small and not clear, so working the panel (which is often part covered by an overhanging pan) is difficult to find and control. 6. The timer only goes on to the last switched on hot plate, so to work multiples, you have to switch them off & on again to set it. I'm so disappointed with it. Not good for people who cook with large pans. So sad. 3
Poor function, do not buyAnonymous reviewerI had anew IKEA kitchen fitted last year with this hob. I'd had an IKEA induction hob in my previous house which was brilliant but the model was not available anymore.
This hob is inferior, the buttons are temperamental and if you have even a hint of damp fingers they don't work. If using more than two rings, the whole thing often turns itself off.
Regardless of the buttons, the power is really disappointing, on the old version, I could boil a pan of water super quickly, this one takes three or four times longer and doesn't feel any quicker than a standard electric hob.
If it wasn't such a hassle to refit it I would be returning to store. 1
Terrible productAnonymous reviewerButtons don't work if you have slightly damp fingers. Hobs randomly turn off and you need to restart the hob to get it to work. Terrible and unusable. Worst product I've ever bought off any kind. 1
Do not buy this hobAnonymous reviewerThis is an awful product. Not enough space for normal sized pans so you can only really use two spots at one time. One ring has never worked despite an engineer coming out to look at it. The controls heat up so much you can't touch them. Like others have said if you have one ring on it usually sets off the one behind it or changes the temperature on it. It is awful, badly designed and simply doesn't do the job. 1
Difficult to use and over fussyAnonymous reviewerWhy does some technology over complicate things? The buttons don't respond well if your fingers are slightly wet, and who doesn't have wet fingers while cooking?
The induction hob is so fussy with pots/pans, it only accepts certain metals and also rejects many of our pans for either not being completely flat, have some grime on them or burnt bits, an indented logo, etc. So only half our pans work with this hob. I'm really disappointed with it and as we've had it just over a month, we can't even return it. A waste of over £300. I want to return to simple gas or electric.1
Terrible don’t buy itAnonymous reviewerI am very disappointed with this hob for multiple reasons but mainly as have to use a specific size pan on each hob to get it to turn on. I have never used a hob where it simply does not work if a specific pan size is not used. This means only 1 ring is suitable for a frying pan (16-21cm). 2 rings are suitable for small pan (12-16cm) and small pan can only be used with a small milk pan (10-12cm). These pan sizes are ridiculous and not suitable for a family to be cooking with.
Other issues are the touch buttons are not sensitive and do not work a lot of the time. Also had issues with a ticking noise when pressing the boost button and the hob not boosting. Only Resolved by turning the hob off at the mains.
I will be returning this hob as it is terrible quality and very limiting on how it can be used.1
Trevlig HobAnonymous reviewerReally disappointing, have had to have it replaced once as controls continually failed. Replacement has the same issues. Would not recommend2
Forget 4 pan cookingAnonymous reviewerNot that it's not powerful enough. It's pretty capable. It's just too little space for pans. Controls take too much space at the bottom. When you move pan a bit it switches on the other zone. Controls get too hot to adjust after a while of cooking on the lower zones. I wish I bought the 2-boost version - seems to have better layout. Sorry, I don't recommend this one.2
As expectedAnonymous reviewerThis is our 2nd induction hob from IKEA. The first one broke because I accidentally knelt on the corner of it whilst cleaning the windows above. We decided to go for 4 boosters rather than 2 this time. Definitely the right decision. Its easy to clean and I feel the safest out of all hob types. Very happy and won't be kneeling anywhere close to it!5
